Be amazed at what you will discover in Kyoto, from the old to the modern, the noise of markets to the serenity of temple gardens, with just a half a day tour. A 10-min. train ride from Kyoto Station brings you to the amazing shrine of 10,000 torii red gates. Steps away from Kyoto Station is Higashi Hongan-ji, one of the world's largest wooden structures. Kyoto abounds with temples, including the six sided small temple Choho-ji which serenely sits in middle of Kyoto's office district. A short walk to the Nishiki Food market can see, smell and taste Japanese foods and Kyoto specialties. After this you will walk along Kyoto's northeast to see the tea houses where geisha and maiko still work. The next locations are the shrines and temples and the medieval shopping district of Yasaka. Finally, you will visit Kiyomizu Temple, a destination that many Japanese visit during school trips. In about 3 and a half hours of walking and train rides to see highlights of Kyoto. I will escort you back to Kyoto Station.
Fushimi Inari Shrine, Higashi Hongan Temple, Choho Temple, Nishiki Food Market, Ponto-cho, Yasaka Shrine, Yasaka District, Ishibei Lane, Ninenzaka, Sannenzaka, Kiyomizu Temple Back at the station and end of the Tour
