Hi, my name is Michele, a 34-year-old adventure seeker from Italy. I was born in a small town near Venice and the Dolomites, surrounded by beautiful landscapes that inspired my passion for the outdoors. At 22, I left Italy to explore the world. I spent two years living, working, and traveling in Australia, followed by three unforgettable years in New Zealand. I then backpacked through Southeast Asia and India, volunteering as an English teacher in rural villages in Myanmar and Cambodia. In 2020, I decided to settle down in Japan with my wife, Shizuka, whom I met during my time in Australia. Three years later, in 2023, we welcomed our son, Halu, and embraced family life in this beautiful country. After living in Kyoto for five years, I fell in love with the city’s charm, history, and culture. I know every corner and hidden gem of Kyoto, from peaceful temples and scenic hiking trails to the best local food spots. Becoming a tour guide in Japan has allowed me to combine my passion for adventure with my love of storytelling and connecting with people from all over the world. I’m passionate about outdoor activities like cycling, hiking, multi-day treks, camping, and road trips. I’ve been a goalkeeper since the age of six and always enjoy a good challenge, meeting new people, and sharing stories from my travels.

Join me for a unique adventure through Kyoto, blending spirituality with the tradition of sake-making. We’ll start at Fushimi Inari Taisha, where the iconic red torii gates stretch endlessly up Mount Inari. As we walk, I’ll reveal hidden corners and local secrets, immersing you in the area’s rich history. After conquering the gates, we’ll explore the Fushimi Sake District, one of Japan’s oldest sake-producing regions. Discover the art of sake-making passed down through generations and taste the finest brews made with the region’s pure, fresh waters. Our journey ends at a historic sake factory, still in operation, where you can explore the museum and sip a glass of sake to celebrate the walk. Having lived in Kyoto Fushimi for over five years, and with my wife growing up here, I know every corner of this beautiful area. Let me guide you through a truly unforgettable experience, combining the spiritual, historical, and flavorful.
