Hello, I'm Yumiko, a nationally licensed English-speaking tour guide. I was born and live in Yamanashi Prefecture, which is next to Tokyo and the home of Mt. Fuji. Yamanashi Prefecture is also famous for the largest amounts of produce of grapes and peaches in Japan. I love Mt. Fuji, grapes and peaches!! I look at and look up to Mt. Fuji every day. Mt. Fuji area is full of nature, beauty and history, and has a lot of places you must visit. Mt. Fuji was registered as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 2013, which is officially named "Fujisan, sacred place and source of artistic inspiration". The inscribed property consists of 25 sites which reflect the essence of Mt. Fuji's sacred and artistic landscape. In addition to these sites, there are many nice view spots, interesting museums, leisure facilities, and off-beaten spots in Mt. Fuji area. There are a lot of ways to enjoy yourself. Exploring the Aokigahara Forest and having a relaxing time at Lake Kawaguchiko is one of my favorite tours. Visiting Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine always gives me spiritual energy because of its sacred atmosphere. Cycling at Lake Kawaguchiko or Lake Yamanakako refreshes me. The view of Mt. Fuji from Arakurayama Sengen Park (Chureito Pagoda) is getting popular and famous. From the Fuji Five Lakes, you can enjoy the magnificent views of Mt. Fuji with the lake. From spring through autumn, you can go up to the 5th station by bus or taxi. If you would like to visit some off-beaten spots, I will be pleased to take you to my special places. I am also familiar with good restaurants and cafes in the area. I myself love to travel around the world, learn different cultures, find something interesting, eat local good food, and have wonderful experiences. So, I would really like you to fully enjoy your travel in Mt. Fuji area. I am ready to guide you around Mt. Fuji as your personal tour guide with cheerful and open mind. I will make your private tour enjoyable and memorable. Please feel free to send me an email. I look forward to your inquiry. We had such a fabulous day with Yumiko as our guide. We packed so much into our day! We were a group of 8 (incl one child) and Yumiko accommodated us all with the days itinerary, was a great photographer catching all the days highlights and educated us with the history and language of the area and Japan throughout the day. We highly recommend Yumiko and can't thank her enough for such an incredible experience during our visit to Mt Fuji. She also went over and above helping us with travel plans to Osaka being the New Year and a public holiday, which we were so thankful for!!! Would DEFINITELY book Yumiko and toursbylocals again for future return trips.

What a wonderful tour. Seven hours passed by fast due to Ms. Yumiko ability to engage us in the local and national history, customs, Japanese culture and language. She was even able to make us sing in Japanese and thought us some important daily expressions. She was graceful and a pleasure to be with. The tour itself was great. She guided us all over the place including some local gastronomic and off the beaten path gems. The tour is worth every moment, every penny, every sight. Cheers

Yumiko is amazing! We had a wonderful tour to Mt Fuji & Lake Kawaguchiko. She told us which trains to book to get from Tokyo and was in constant contact with us as we messaged her. She gets extra points for still doing our tour with a broken foot! She said she couldn't cancel since I had booked so far in advance. She brought a friend who also guides to do the physical parts she couldn't do. What a gem Yumiko is! We were blessed with a nice day with great views of Fuji. She took us to enjoy the local noodles they make there and they were very good. She is knowledgeable and just a nice lady. Don't hesitate to book with her!

Yumiko is the best, most patient and informative guide. She took our group of 9 on a private tour to Mt Fuji area and we were in awe of the sights she planned out. We learned a lot of interesting facts from Yumiko about the history of Mt Fuji as well as the culture of the people today. We highly recommend Yumiko as your tour guide for an unforgettable highlight of your Japan trip!
