During this seven-hour tour we will visit Laxey Wheel, Tynwald Hill, Peel (lunch-break) Cregneash, the Sound and Castle Rushen with an optional journey from Castletown to Douglas on the vintage Isle of Man Steam Railway. The itinerary is fully adjustable to suit any particular interests.
Travelling North from Douglas we visit the village of Laxey to view the world's largest waterwheel then follow the famous Tourist Trophy motorcycle circuit to visit St Johns, home of the historic annual outdoor parliament. In Peel, once a Viking stronghold on the Island's West coast, we visit the House of Manannan, award-winning heritage centre and view Peel Castle with time for a quick lunch. Travelling south we cross stunning moorland and coastal scenery to visit the open air Folk Museum at Cregneash and drop down to the Sound before visiting Castletown to view the impressive Castle Rushen, considered the best-preserved medieval castle in Britain, with the option of returning to Douglas by the unique Isle of Man heritage narrow-gauge steam railway.
