The perfect introduction to the Isle of Man for first-time visitors! The Isle of Man has a rich history incorporating both Celtic and Viking strands. On this half day tour you will visit one of the best preserved medieval castles in the British Isles as well as the 'centre of Manxness', the unique open-air Folk Museum at Cregneash. We'll also take in some spectacular coastal and mountain scenery and explore some of the traditions and unique identity of this ancient kingdom.
Leaving the modern capital of Douglas we travel South to the ancient capital, Castletown and visit Castle Rushen, seat of the ancient Kingdom of Mann and the Isles. Onwards to Cregneash village, a recreation of crofting life in times gone by. Traversing stunning mountain scenery we move to the Viking stronghold of Peel in the West of the Island before returning to Douglas via Tynwald Hill, scene of the Island's annual outdoor parliament.
