Are you visiting the island for the first time? If so and you would like an introduction to this little gem in the middle of the Irish Sea, this tour would be perfect for you. We start in Douglas, with views from Douglas Head to see how the development of Douglas created such a strong tourist industry during the mid-1800's. Travelling along coast following the Manx Electric Railway to Laxey home of the largest Water Wheel in the World. After Laxey we visit the first of our Neolithic sites, King Orry's grave and then follow the coast up to Kirk Maughold, the place of my ancestors who were Quakers A short trip through Ramsey will take us to the world-famous TT course where we will join in for a short trip over the mountain heading to St Johns and Peel. Peel is the site of one of our two castles and a beautiful marina, stopping for lunch. Travelling south to visit of Cregneish village and the Sound, the breeding ground of the Atlantic grey seal, possibly seeing the elusive Basking Shark
Jane was delightful, knowledgeable, friendly and the tour was totally informative and enjoyable. Dave the driver had a terrific suggestion for lunch and it was fabulous. A pub called victory’s on the Ty course- with wonderful food. We saw the beautiful Isle of Man , learned history of the island and it was relaxing and lovely.

More than an all-day scenic tour, Jane provided a condensed history of the Isle of Man. I am a history buff and this was all new to me. From the small villages, to the roads that make up the rally car race, to the wonderful vistas, we covered it all during our day with Jane. Especially interesting was stopping by the small church where their government sits, learning about and being envious of, how they conduct democracy. Jane made the UNIQUENESS of the Isle of Man very real - this is a must do tour.
We only had one day to explore Isle of Man, and we are so grateful that we were able to have Jane take us around. She is extremely knowledgeable about the island and it's incredibly rich history. She took us on a breathtakingly scenic tour through thousands of years of history including Neolithic burial grounds, monasteries, castles, churches, lighthouses and geological wonders of the island. An amazing day with a wonderful guide.
Jane has always been prompt with her communications, and has such a broad and extensive knowledgebase that she turned my focus on cathedrals into a trips filled with churches and ruins, history, castles, and, with my last minute throw-in, Tynwald. She is an attentive listener as well as a brilliant ranconteur. Her drive is excellent. I marveled at all her connections with Manx as we traveled the island.
We only had one day on Isle of Man and I wanted to see as much as possible. This tour fit the bill. We travelled around the whole island. I got hundreds of awesome pictures. Jane was really knowledgeable about the local history. She was also accommodating when I asked to make a stop at a local distillery. I would highly recommend this tour.
