I recommended this tour if you want to enjoy the natural scenery near Jakarta, driving time only one hour and a half away. Bogor is located in the middle of mount Gede and Mount Pangrango, surrounded by mountains, the weather is nice and has a beautiful panorama of the mountain area. Bogor is known as a "raining city" and Dutch people during the colonial time called it "Buitenzorg" which means "place for relaxing without worries", also we will visit a famous destination called the Bogor Botanical Garden, located near the presidential palace, this garden was one of the ten biggest botanical gardens in the world, with a collection of more than one hundred plant species. Besides the garden, there is also another local area in Mulyaharja with beautiful scenery of huge rice fields where we can enjoy walking and learning how rice making direct from the farmer. you will also enjoy the fresh air and green forest with beautiful waterfall in Bogor.
If you have a full day while you are in Jakarta, head to Bogor city. The botanical gardens are just amazing. Experiencing the rice fields and seeing the waterfall added to perfect day. Being able to see the artistry that goes into making the wooden puppets is an extra bonus Ratih organized this perfect day and knows the history of each place.
This is a great itinerary for a day out, with varied experiences. You will get away from metropolitan Jakarta and see mire of the "real" Indonesia. The highlight of the tour, though, is Ratih herself. We learned more about living in Indonesia from Ratih in the first 10 minutes than you would learn on 12 bus tours. She's very intuitive and will pick up clues from conversation that will lead her to suggest things that might interest you. Also, she's been doing this for a while and seems to know EVERYBODY, so you will get preferential treatment where ever you go.
This was our second day with Ratih and she continued to impress us. Again made adjustments at our request with no problems, very accommodating. Heavy rain for a short time but she had umbrellas at the ready. Great guide.
Ratih was prompt and a great guide for our Bogor Countryside Tour. She provided lots of interesting g information without being overbearing. She was always friendly, helpful, and flexible. We were stuck with a very rainy day for our tour but Ratih maintained a positive attitude throughout the day that helped us have a great time nonetheless.
We would recommend this trip only if you are unable to get outside of the city. It takes a LONG time (with lots of traffic) to get to the gardens area. They are, indeed, beautiful. The tea plantation was particularly interesting.
The Botanical Garden in Bogor was the perfect antidote to the haze and bustle of Jakarta. The drive to the summit and the highland tea plantations provided a cool break from the heat of the city. Lunch was included and the total tour price was much lower than all other options found online. We found Ratih to be extremely warm and knowledgeable. We all enjoyed the tour and she also accommodated our request to visit the elementary school Pres. Obama attended when he lived in Jakarta.

On this place you will see the beautiful scenery of rice field and also watch out the farmer activities on the field and learning how rice proccesing from them. - Nangka Waterfall beautiful waterfall with fresh air and beautiful view of nature in Bogor. enjoy walking along the stone river to watch the waterfall. - enday media wooden puppet. Unique and beautiful west java art making from the wood. Enday will show us how puppet making from the wood until it creating beautiful art. This tour is customizable.
