Jakarta's Historical Sites Full Day Tour

Jakarta has a historical background and also had several names before being called as today! An interesting fact is that this beautiful capital city was colonized by 3 different countries, Portugal, The Netherlands, and Japan. For example, The East Indies Company from Netherland name this city after Batavia, for almost 340 years. Well on this tour, we will explore some areas where the Dutch lived and the story behind it from 1596 until 1942. Note: All Museums and Monuments will be closed on Monday and public holidays.

The first place that we would like to take you is the National Monument and we will proceed to Jakarta Chinatown, where we can see the daily activities of the oldest traditional market in Jakarta. We will continue to visit the old city of Batavia, the place where the Dutch lived from 1628 until the beginning of 1800. We can visit also some old buildings that now become museums and we can visit puppet/wayang workshop. Before we end the tour, we are going to take you to Sunda Kelapa old harbor, which used to be the center of the spices business in Batavia.
