Hello everyone! I am Anna. Through our wanderings we discover the real Sifnos. " Its architecture and smells. Its history and legends. Its culture and traditions. Its landscapes and nature. Its traditional villages and stunning bays. Its turquoise crystal clear waters. I created these hikes for travellers who love exploring, love nature and wish to experience the 'real' Sifnos! I wish to share the beauty and culture of our island with you in a pleasant, unforgettable way. I was born in a small village in North Greece but I was always dreaming of moving to the Greek islands. So, I started to visit them in order to find my paradise! That's when I discovered the island of Sifnos! The second time I visited the island in 1998 I decided to stay. It became my home, my island. I started working as a chef and in order to gather and explore the island's herbs and spices I started wandering around the island's ancient paths and mountains. So I came to know the "real" Sifnos, with its innumerable trails and kilometers of dry stone walls, olive groves, mastic, cedar trees and the protected ''Natura 2000'' areas which are rich in flora and fauna. So, I quit cooking and started walking by paved and unpaved paths daily, that lead me to hundreds of chapels, ancient towers and mountain peaks with breathtaking views! My dream is to guide and introduce visitors to the island's natural beauty and its people, who have kept me here for the last 24 years. Create your own walking tour around Sifnos! Overview of your Sifnos tour
Join me for a circular walk around the most traditional villages of the island. Get lost in a maze "carved" with Cycladic architecture where white and blue dominate. Stroll in picturesque settlements whose borders are intertwined. Walk down narrow alleys leading to colorful courtyards with bougainvilleas… which lead to deadends or mystic passages. . . in addition to this, catch a glimpse into the daily life of the locals! Join us where the mountain landscapes compete with the panoramic views of the Aegean Sea and the surrounding islands. The smells of basil, lemon trees, and jasmine will accompany us throughout the duration of our walk! Remember the following itinerary could always be customized to best meet your preferences, so please send me a message for any special requests!
Your Sifnos tour itinerary
A taxi will drive you to the starting point of our walk at the center of Apollonia, the capital of Sifnos. I will be waiting for you there! -After we discover Apollonia, we'll continue to the settlement of Ano Petali from where we will admire the view of the rest of the 7 settlements. -Next, we will cross the village of Artemonas, which took its name from the ancient Greek goddess Artemis. Artemonas has a different architecture from the rest of the settlements. Some beautiful neoclassical buildings can be observed. -We can have a break in one of the traditional café shops. -Afterwards, we will make our way towards the the settlement of Ai Loukas. -Then we will head on to the village of Kato Petali between fields with olive trees and gardens full of vegetables. -Next stop will be at Exabella where we will see the remains of an ancient tower. -Then we'll stroll into the rest of the Katavati and Eleimonas settlements, admiring the Cycladic architecture in all its glory. -We will finish our walk at Apollonia.
