Hello, My name is Ioannis. First and foremost, I just wanna give you a little background about myself and what I do. I was born and raised in the beautiful island of Santorini. Every part of this island reminds me of different times in my life, and specially brings me good memories of my childhood. Just like my grandfather, I used to collect grapes during harvest time, which were used to make a local wine. Also, just like my grandmother, I liked picking cherry tomatoes to prepare the famous sun-dried Santorini tomatoes. I even remember in my early years when I used to play with friends in Caldera's cliffs, with a striking view of the volcano which for me then was something very scary. The last 7 years I have offered private tours as an expert local guide. My main passion is meeting people from all over the world and sharing my knowledge of the local history and culture. I am a truly passionate professional and my biggest wish is to show you as much as I can of my island, making your tour something really memorable! On this tour we'll get to discover some of the most beautiful hidden gems of Santorini and not just stay in the spots frequently visited by tourists. Most tourists choose to visit Oia in order to take pictures and admire the famous blue domes and Fira, the capital of the island, as well as go on leisurely shopping. In our case, we won't stay only in these touristically frequented spots: we will get to explore the island in a different, unique way. We'll visit a hidden spot in Oia with a remarkable panoramic view and we'll learn about the local wine culture by visiting and enjoying a wine tasting in an old Canava (which means winery in local language). You won't miss out on the chance to discover the old lighthouse, the old Venetian Tower (Casteli for locals) in Akrotiri village, the old windmills, a holy chapel on the cliffs and the natural wonder we call the "heart of Santorini". The following itinerary could be customized to best meet your specific needs:
We flew in to Santorini just for the day. There is no way we could have done in a day what we did with Ioannis. He took us to great photo stops but also Oia, Fira, Akrotiri, the Black beack, a great lunch place and ended at Santos winery. We drove through several other cities and he pointed out history. Great tour and highly recommend him or any of his guides (he is the manager).
Ok, this tour was perfect. Loved the history and was so impressed with the way we arrived at each photo spot almost for a private viewing. Great job beating the crowds. Thank you! Favorite part of the day was eating at an amazing local restaurant. Delivery from and to the gondola was easy.

Ionnis was delightful and worked with our group to meet our needs when our tour started an hour late due to my misunderstanding on where to meet. He took us to sites that were photo perfect and without the huge crowds. He had lots of history and information to share with us. He got us back to the cable car area in Santorini so we were able to get back to the ship on time! Great memories!
There were 6 of us on a tour with Ioannis in Santorini. Ioannis was a terrific guide and showed us the entire island of Santorini. We got delayed on the Cruise ship and at the Cable car so our tour started two hours late but Ioannis waited for us with a smile. He even took a little extra time to make sure we saw everything we wanted to see in Santorini. He is a terrific guide and all-around good guy. He knows Santorini extremely well. Highly recommend his tour.

-We'll start this private tour from your hotel or the exit of the cable car in Fira (if you are a cruise ship visitor). -Our first stop will be a hidden place, unknown to tourists, from where we'll admire the coastal village of Oia with its iconic whitewashed houses. -We'll then head to the area around another village, Imerovigli, and make a photo stop at the holy chapel of Prophet Ilias. I know you'll love the view. -Next, we'll explore the "Heart of Santorini", a natural heart shaped carving a the rocky caldera, incredible scenery. -Then, another must-visit stop: the old lighthouse at the southern edge of the island. -Next, the Venetian Tower, Casteli of Akrotiri reveals many secrets Santorini's medieval history and the piracy in the Aegean Sea of that time. -After that, the old windmills in Emporio are an interesting place to visit and picture. -At last, you'll partake in a wine tasting in an old traditional canava winery (optional). We'll finish the tour getting back to the starting point.
