My name is Nassos and I live in the island of mythical Ariadne, Naxos. I am a kindergarten teacher (kids form 4 to 6 yrs old), as my main occupation. I love working with kids, contacting them each and every day makes me feel young and enthousiastic about life at its simplicity! Apart from my degree as a Kindergarten teacher, I have a degree in Educational Robotics and New Technologies and its use at school. Also, I've studied Theater and I've created - with 2 other colleagues - a Theatrical group with kids (aged 4 to 15) performing in acting. I also love sports, especially basketball, music and dancing. My passion for my island lead me to study a lot about its history and the in heritage my ancestors passed over. So I decided to get involved in the last years with local tour operators, offering guided tours. I love meeting people from all over the world and guide them not only to see the -plenty- highlights my island has to offer but mostly feel the glory of history and culture, feel the energy of the landscapes, feel the emotions of the unique Naxian sky and fall in love with places. I really I love the island and I'm feeling lucky to live here, in "the Paradise on Earth" as the famous Greek writer Nikos Kazantzakis said. So I'm looking forward to show you around! Walk through the narrow alleyways heading to the Castle of Chora, admire the archeological sights, travel through the mountain zone and meet unique villages, taste delicious local products and try recipes, enjoy the breathtaking Naxian sunset by the sea and much more. . . 6 years of guiding experience. I do not have a license to give tours inside museums.

The Art of weaving considered as one of the oldest arts that human created. Signs of the first attempts of weaving can be found 20. 000 before. In Ancient Greece loom weaving was well known and Godess Athena was the master and protector by the name "Ergani Athena" (Ergani means industrious). Many stories in Greek Mythology involve seamstresses with the Myth of Athena and Arachni as the most significant. Philomela, Ariadne and Penelope were some of the seamstresses in Greek Mythology. It was so important for ancient greeks that the three fates connected with the loom weaving, symbolizing life itself: Clotho decides the life line of everyone (long or short, thick or thin) (start of weaving) Lachesis decides the pattern and colours of life (weaving proccedure) Atropos decides the end of life (end of weaving) Nowadays, this ancient Art is fading. Apeiranthos , due to the women Cooperative and their workshops , trying to keep it alive. Join me to this unique journey inspired by my traveller Mrs Cynthia DiGiacomo.
