My family and I spent several hours with Gaelle and it was amazing! She is very knowledgeable about the long history of Lille, pointed out interesting (scandalous?) building architectural elements, and showed us good places to eat and drink. Gaelle is very accommodating. She met us right on time, moved at our pace, and tailored our walking tour to my family's interest. THANK YOU Gaelle!!!
Gaelle’s three-hour tour of Lille was absolutely outstanding and one of the highlights of my visit. From the very beginning, she provided an engaging and insightful overview of Lille’s history, creating the perfect foundation for understanding the city’s architecture, culture, and remarkable evolution over the centuries.
Her depth of knowledge is impressive, but what truly sets her apart is her ability to bring history to life. Throughout the tour, she skillfully connected historical events, landmarks, and artifacts to modern-day Lille, giving me a much richer appreciation of how the city functions and thrives today.
Despite the cool weather, Gaelle ensured the experience remained comfortable and enjoyable. We stopped for coffee and snacks, explored charming historic shops and a delightful tearoom, and sampled local specialties that added an authentic flavor to the day. She also provided excellent recommendations for lunch and other places to explore, making the tour valuable well beyond the three hours we spent together.
By the end of the morning, I felt I had gained a genuine understanding of Lille—its origins, its people, its daily life, and its future as a vibrant and dynamic university city.
This tour is exceptionally worthwhile for anyone visiting Lille. Gaelle is not only highly knowledgeable but also warm, personable, and genuinely passionate about her city. Her use of historical photographs, stories, and artifacts enriched the experience and helped paint a vivid picture of Lille’s past and present. I would highly recommend her tour to anyone looking for an informative, engaging, and memorable introduction to this beautiful French city.
The old part of the city of Lille is very pretty, we were here during the Chritmas holidays, the decorations and lights are amazing!
Gaelle gave an in depth tour of the city, explaining the origins of the city, and every detail up to current times.
We had a bit of rainy weather during the tour, and Gaelle managed to keep us as comfortable as possible, while still giving a detailed itinerary.
Gaelle is passionate about sharing her knowledge of her home, and this makes for a very rewading experience!
Our tour guide (Gail in English) was very knowledgable and helpful. We particularly liked how she unfolded the history of Lille through the centuries at the beginning of the tour, then reinforced that during the walking part of the tour. It was very busy in Lille that day, but she guided us through the crowded streets carefully and with good cheer. We knew nothing about Lille when we arrived, and now feel like we know it so much better and how it fits in to the France/Belgium/Netherlands culture!

Gaëlle was amazing. I was a solo traveler with a short amount of time and she was able to provide the right touch to give me a fabulous tour. She was
So knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend the day with.
I booked this English language tour at the last minute (the day before) with Gaelle. She was very prompt and efficient in responding and this set the tone for the tour. Gaelle was very accomodating and easy to deal with. She is very knowledgeable (history and geography particularly) and my short walking tour was a pleasure. I learned a lot in the company of a friendly Lillois. Parfait.
