Arras and WWI Sites - Full Day Tour

Gaëlle provided us with 2 wonderful days filled full of excitement and memories that will last forever. We toured many memorials related to the sacrifices of the many who fell and fought for freedom. My great uncle’s was one of those brave infantry soldiers who gave his final measure and was killed in action 9 August 1918 near Caix, France during WW1. We found his name listed on two different memorials with her help. Thank you Gaëlle!

Gaëlle exceeded our expectations. She helped me trace the my great uncle’s efforts during WW1 who was killed in action near Caix, France. With her help we believe his final resting place is in an unmarked grave known only to God, at the Manitoba Canadian Cemetery near Caix. We found his name listed on the Vimy Memorial and in addition and a complete surprise we also found his name on one of many panels which form the oval memorial dedicated to those fallen during World War I, at The Memorial Notre Dame De Lorette, Hauts de France. Thank you Gaëlle for the great experience and your help to visit the many memorials related to those brave men and women who fought and died for Freedom.

Booked this tour so my Father could see Vimy Ridge for his 90th birthday. Gaelle was an utter delight as a tour guide. Not only knowledgeable about the history and area, but very accommodating and helpful in adjusting for some limitations with my Father's mobility, as well as unexpected rain during the day. All the stops were better than expected, and we particularly enjoyed her choice for lunch. Highly recommend

I really recommend this full day tour. Gaëlle is a very friendly, knowledgeable & experienced guide. In addition, she is a good & safe driver. Gaëlle has provided us with extra information for our own travelling & we had a delicious lunch too!

This was a wonderful tour and Gaelle was an excellent guide. She gave us so much insight and details about WW1 events in France that we could never have found on our own. Lunch was at a spectacular location as well. Understanding how the cemeteries were established and designed based on the different nations was really interesting. She was even able to identify the original grave of the Unknown Soldier who is now interred in Ottawa, where we live. Vimy was of course a highlight for us as Canadians. Would highly recommend!

Our tour centred on Arras and Vimy and Gaelle's extensive knowledge was most helpful for us to gain an insight into the conflict, the conditions and the wider context of the times. Gaelle is a gifted guide, knows the areas very well, and designed a tour that perfectly met our requirements. We have only thanks for her and commend her as an able, professional and expert guide.
