With 15 years of experience as a tour leader all over Europ with different tour companies specialized in educational and cultural tours, I have decided a few years ago to show the best kept secrets of the area where I did grow up. I am proud to propose the best daily tours from the "3 borders area", concentrated in the region, including the Alsace, the Black forest, and up to the Swiss Alps. Passionate about history, culture, wine, gastronomy and people, I remain constantly curious and enthusiastic, my aim is to make the tour a unique moment, an informative and unforgettable experience for every traveller. I am someone fun to be with but in the same time I stay always focused on the job. I love to share my knowledge and experience, I am someone flexible, dedicated and enthusiast in absolutely every type of situation. I believe I understand the need of each participant while they are far away from home, and I would love to welcome you in my comfortable and modern minivan off the beaten track, in order to provide you the most beautiful memories of the area. I am looking forward to meet you for the most beautiful adventure, and I will stay at your entire disposal to show you the best! Overview of your Colmar tour

This tour will give you the unique opportunity in Alsace, to be immerged in this recent sorrowful history. The morning will be dedicated to experience the battlefield of WWI, located on the top mountains of the Vosges. You will have the one opportunity to walk inside the originals trenches, to learn about the tragic history that did provide 9 millions of casualties in 4 years, to visit the memorial and military cemetery, standing on that sadly famous spot. In the afternoon, fascinated by the WWII's veterans that I had the privilege to drive back where they fought, I invite you to follow the steps of the 3rd US Infantry Division and the First French Army, for the liberation of Alsace. Visit the museum of the « pocket of Colmar » in the charming village of Turkheim, & learn everything about the most difficult fights of the winter 1944-1945, the hardest winter of the 20th century. This tour provides an excellent excuse to drive through the most scenical "route des crètes", at the top of the Vosges mountains.

Fantastic tour! Jean-Yves was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sharing the rich history of the region. An unexpected bonus was the lunch reservations he made for us at an excellent local restaurant. All around an amazing day. I highly recommend Jean-Yves.

Jean-Yves is a very knowledgeable and enjoyable guide, He was happy to pick us up where we were staying, provided us with much interesting information during the van ride, arranged lunch reservations for us and gave us suggestions for excursions during the remainder of our stay in Colmar. The WWI battlefield and WWII museum were definitely worth the visit. The only reason we are not rating 5 stars is because we felt we could have gotten more from the museum and battlefield tours if he would have accompanied us to help with explanations. Also, during the drive, it would have been nice if we could have stopped for a couple photos at various memorials. In summary, it was a very enjoyable and informative day.

If you are ever in Colmar or in Breisach On a river tour then you should definitely take a private tour with Jean-Yves. We were able to experience the history of Alsace Lorraine, World War I and World War II battlefields along with the culture architecture and food of this unique region in France. Jean-Yves, knowledge of history is incomparable, his Enthusiasm is second to none and his English is perfect. He picked us up at our cruise ship and dropped us off eight hours later. The cost of the tour when divided by the four individuals on it was comparable to the cost of a large tour organized by the cruise line, however instead of a large bus with a fixed itinerary and schedule, we were able to tour in a comfortable van where we set the pace we could linger where we were most interested and then move on to the next location

Very sobering and humbling experience, but very glad we took the time to see and remember those individuals that suffered so much.

Jean-Yves knowledge was very deep, and personal. It was fascinating to learn about the very long history of conflicts in the Alsace, Lorraine region, over the many centuries. Also the very complicated family relationships of the German and Alsace people who live in the area. It is so hard today to imagine the total destruction that the people and the beautiful villages you see today, that experienced the 1940's. This guide was 100% terrific, and we received a great value from his day with us.
