Overview of your Colmar tour
Today will be spent on the magnificent and panoramic wine road of Alsace. In the morning, you will visit the Haut Koenigsbourg Castle on your own. Then you will be driven to the beautiful medieval town of Riquewihr which did inspire Disney for his film "the beauty and the beast" and Kaysersberg, elected the most beloved French village in 2017. We will go straight to the interesting spots, directly in the historical part of those lovely towns, after some guidance, you will have plenty of time to appreciate those fairy tales spots at your own pace. In between those "must see places", I will drive you through the most local and less known hamlets, isolated in the middle of the vineyard. You will enjoy the commentaries and local input, stopping in the most tiny and forgotten localities.

Absolutely the best tour of our vacation and we have nothing but praise for Jean !! It was very much considered perfect! It was customized for our small group, his van was very comfortable, his knowledge was excellent and so much fun, laughter and it was very personable! The stops were not rushed, we were shown above and beyond what was expected and he had excellent recommendations for our lunch place, our wine tasting and more! This tour will not disappoint!!

It was wonderful to start our first morning in Alsace with Jean-Yves!He was prompt, picking us up in Colmar in his spacious and comfortable van. We headed to the Haut Koenigsbourg Castle, with a magical drive in to the Vosges Mountains. He provided commentary and offered patience while we spent 90 minutes in the castle. This was the perfect amount of time and we got there early, so it was particularly pleasant. We then traversed la Route des Vins D'Alsace, with lots of great commentary, before we ended up in Kaysersberg, where I'd booked lunch for our family of 5 adults, at La Winstub du Chambard. We enjoyed a special meal and then wanted to visit the WWII Museum in Turckheim, as my husband's uncle died in WWII. Jean-Yves was so fun to be with and represents Alsace so perfectly. We loved our time with him and think he has Bruce Springsteen's smile, to boot!

Jean Yves is so fun and personable. He is like an encyclopedia of knowledge for the region. He organized a great day for us that included a wonderful Alsatian lunch in Riquewihr. We felt like we got a great understanding of this part of Alsace and saw all the sights we looked forward to - we even saw a stork in his nest! We can’t wait to come back and drive the historic wine road again!
