There once lived a king… Great King Charles the 4th. He was one of the most powerful kings during European history. He was not only the Czech King, also he was the emperor of the Holy Rome Empire. And he needed a castle to live and also place where he could bring the Crown Jewels of the Czech kingdom and the Holy Relics. So, he built Karlštejn Castle. The castle housed the Crown Jewels in the Chapel of the Holy Cross for 200 years - a truly amazing architectural jewel with its rich Gothic decorations! This 14th century Castle is situated about 30 miles from Prague in a very beautiful Czech countryside around the river Berounka. During our tour you will see how the emperor Charles the 4th lived, where he slept, where he accepted visitors or contemplated. You will see the gothic Castle from the 14th century with the preserved furniture and valuable artistic gems.

I will pick you up in your hotel in Prague any suitable for you time. There are 3 different local guided tours and you can choose one of them: TOUR A - Imperial Rooms of Charles IV - 1 hour. TOUR B - Royal Chapels with unique original decorations that are spellbinding! Allow 90mins. TOUR C - Great Tower, Armoury + Ramparts Panorama View - 40mins. After visiting the castle we can have lunch in local restaurant in the village serving Czech specialities. Drive back in a fully conditioned luxurious car back to Prague.
