PLEASE, MESSAGE ME THE DATE AND THE TOUR YOU WANT TO DO BEFORE YOU MAKE THE BOOKING, SO I CAN DOUBLE-CHECK MY AVAILABILITY. THANK YOU. When I was born, my country was called Czechoslovakia. Several years later, a decision has been made to separate the country in two, which is known as the Czech Republic and Slovakia today. I and my family ended up in the Slovakian part. However, I feel being Czech the very same way as being Slovakian - the Czechoslovakian. Since I remember, my dream was to study in Prague, at the famous Charles University. My dream came true and I've been living in this amazing city for more than 15 years now. Studies gave me a great opportunity to understand the world's history, to travel, to learn new languages and to do the best job in the world - to start my work as a tour guide! I have years of experience in guiding various kinds of tours and groups. Hence, I consider private tours as the best way to explore the city. There is nobody else to limit you, you can ask anything and there is always time to see some hidden gems, to escape from the crowds, to experience something beyond the ordinary. My goal is to show you how amazing Prague and the whole Czech Republic is. There are so many great people and many more stories that shaped the Czech nation through centuries, and all of them make our country great. It is impossible to cover it at once, but I can promise you that I'll try to make the most of your visit. Thank you for considering me as your guide and I hope to meet you in person on one of my tours. Apart from guiding, I love to travel, discover new cultures and see the sights where history happened. A relatively still small amount of those places I have visited so far, however, there's still the rest of the world on my bucket list. PLEASE, MESSAGE ME BEFORE YOU BOOK THE TOUR TO MAKE SURE OF MY AVAILABILITY. THANK YOU Join me for a fascinating walk through the streets of Prague that tells the stories of the last 100 years. When the Czechs and Slovaks finally gained their freedom from the Habsburg Empire, in 1918, no one could imagine what would happen in the following years. From the times of The First Republic, when democracy flourished, to the Nazi occupation. Once the war was over, people believed that old good times are back. Not for a long time as the Communists took power in the country for the next 40 years. Let me show you the places where history happened, where Czechs suffered and gained their freedom. Let me tell you about brave people who gave their lives so we can live peacefully today. As a tour guide in the last years, I specialize in the history of the 20th century and I run several specialized tours about WW2 and Communism. This tour will give you a perfect introduction.
Our walk will take us to the streets of New Town and Old Town. Meeting in the hotel (if in the city centre) or on Republic Square We will cover major sites, such as : - Wenceslas Square which hosted the Velvet Revolution in 1989 and the final stage of WW2 in 1945 - Municipal House, where the first republic of Czechoslovakia was declared in 1918 - National Street, where the students in 1989 started the Velvet Revolution against the communistic regime - Old Town Square where we will talk about the role of the Czech resistance during the WW2 The end of the tour can be in the city centre or back in the hotel. PLEASE, MESSAGE ME BEFORE YOU BOOK THE TOUR TO MAKE SURE OF MY AVAILABILITY. THANK YOU
