Hi, I'm Jan. I was born and raised in Prague in June 1980, nine and a half years before we returned to our FREEDOM. I've been a certified tour guide in Prague and the Czech Republic since 2015 and have more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality business. Always smiling, flexible, and consistently delivering a friendly atmosphere and quality service. Come and discover the unexpected Prague in the footsteps of Charles IV. , Maria Theresa, Nazis, Communists, and Franz Kafka through medieval streets, cobblestone bridges, gothic towers, and breathtaking parks full of hidden treasures. I know all the best places to see in Prague, Czech Republic - famous tourist spots and hidden gems only locals know. I specialize in private tours and plan custom itineraries tailored to your interests while sharing my best secrets about our magical city and country. A quality local guide will always add the culture, history, personal experiences, and stories. Life and traveling are about places and stories. I want to share with you how my American family (which I never knew existed before) found me in 2008 through Facebook. How we met, what we learned about each other, the family roots and history, and how the lifestyle changed during the communism for my ancestors regarding human rights, business, etc. Being a fully certified guide with me, you will benefit from the fast-track entrances to see Prague Castle, Old Town Hall Tower, Municipal House, National Museum, National Opera, National Theatre, etc. Part of the magic of private guiding is bringing you to places you wouldn't find on your own and sharing my insider knowledge. I'm always scouting for the best markets, restaurants, cafes, bakeries, taverns, beer, wine, and coffee shops. I'm also a domestic and international transportation specialist, and I can help you get around comfortably and quickly between the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia. When I drive you, we usually stop somewhere in the middle to enjoy authentic Czech culture, beer or wine, and of course, real Bohemian or Moravian food. I am immensely passionate about local food, beer, and wine, along with art and history, especially when sharing them in my favorite hidden spots. I aim to deliver you an exceptional and quality EXPERIENCE, your ideal TRIP, because that is what you will remember forever, and that's what matters. If your goal is the same, let's get in touch and chat about what I can do FOR YOU! While actively working as a tourist guide, I write electronic music and mix music records on the radio or in the club. I like architecture and photography and love sports, and, of course, I love to travel. As a dedicated traveler, I respect foreigners' passion, needs, and interests by celebrating the discovery of a new place while also catering to the practical demands of the day. I've long prioritized travel in my personal life and have extensively explored the US, Canada, Southeast Asia, and most European countries. It is unspeakably fulfilling to experience a different culture firsthand and face to face. My wife is an American CPA, so thanks to our life between Prague and Miami, I understand both Czech culture and what American travelers value most. I can not wait to show you around our more than a thousand years old history, traditions, architectural and heritage diversity, art, monuments and memorials, beautiful nature, local gastronomy, beers, wines, and the hospitality of our people. Even though you came here with Avalon, Emerald, Tauck, G Adventures, Princess Cruises, or Viking Cruises, you might skip the extensive group city tour. Hire a licensed local tour guide to enjoy the custom private city tour. Pickups include FREE wait time. I can arrange the whole package for several days for you too. Contact me today to start planning your dream vacation. I will be happy to respond to all your questions and solve all your needs and interests concerning your budget, wherever you are or need to be. P. S. Do you want to ensure you have hired the right person?
I am honored to have the trust and guest satisfaction! I graduated from sports gymnasium high school in 1999. After I studied the 1-year program in the language school Akcent in Prague. Since 2000 I work in the hotel business. Since 2015 I work as a licensed tour guide in Prague and the Czech Republic.

This was the second half day of our time in Prague with Jan. I must also add to the first day recommendation how very flexible Jan was in working with us on our schedule. I requested more than a couple of times a change to the day and time of the tours. Jan's schedule was very busy since he is a fabulous guide but he found a way to make it work for us. On the second day we concentrated on the side of the Charles bridge where the castle is, high on the hill. As on the first day Jan took us to important but hidden places shoeing the very interesting history of Prague. We saw where their Senate meets and the beautiful gardens behind. Jan excellent idea took us on the tram that the regular inhabitants took daily. Tt took us up to top of the hill where the castle was. We walked down towards the castle observing beautiful nobility homes and even more beautiful views of the city below where we took some great pictures. We observed the changing of the guards at the castle, heard more stories about the history of how the castle was built over time. We then toured the St. Wenceslas cathedral and then the castle itself. Jan took care that we understood the history of these structures. To conclude, I want to thank Jan for making the entire history of Prague come alive for us - from medieval times right through to the current day including the remarkable rebirth of the Czech Republic after the very dark times of WW2 and the Soviet era. It has made us want to visit again and when we do you can be sure we will ask Jan to guide us again. His passion, knowledge and very friendly ways are a rare set of skills he very easily displays to those he guides. Thanks Jan.

We have been to Prague before and wandered around ourselves seeing the obvious tourist places of the old town. This time Jan made the experience come alive for us. Jan is a native of Prague who is passionate about his city. We booked him for two half day tours. The first day he et us at our hotel and began immediately to explain all things Prague to us. We first took a walk around the little town area where we saw how the more well off Prague residents lived to be close to the castle where the rulers were. We say the Prague beach, the most fantastic gender bread shop, some interesting moving sculptures and made our way to the John Lennon Wall. On the way to the wall, Jan explained to us a more modern history of Prague first being invaded and occupied by the Nazi's from the beginning of WW2 and then the oppression of the Soviets right after that. The John Lennon Wall started as a way of protesting the brutality of the Soviet occupation and is now a fully free form way for people to add their messages to the world but now without the risk of the early wall writers. Jan's way of telling the stories made the history come alive. I was particularly struck by the way Czechoslovakia became a free republic shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall. There were so many interesting sights and stories that I should not write them all here. You will need to visit Prague and engage Jan to be your guide. MY family had the most wonderful and pleasantly surprising time following and listening to Jan. We would highly recommend him as a guide to anyone wanting to see and understand the real Prague.

Our day with Jan was perfect! We saw all of the highlights we wanted to see and his in depth knowledge really added to our experience. We also were able to try some local food at his recommendation and it was excellent. Jan is what you expect when booking a private tour, so much more value added with him than with a group tour. He is an exceptional guide. I am a travel agent and have travelled extensively with private guides in Ireland, Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Greece and Turkey. Jan is now in my top 3 guides of all time. HIGHLY recommend him!
