I was born in Prague and spent a happy childhood here. I remember taking long walks with my grandfather and visiting all the historical places. Little did I know that one day, I would be showing this beautiful city and country to people, from all over the world. My grandfather would be proud. Eventually, my family moved first to Germany, where I learned German and then to the USA, where I got most of my education. In the year 2000, communism having been abolished, I returned to the Czech Republic, and live in Prague again. On my return, I went through the proper schooling to get my guide license for Prague and the Czech Republic and lead tours in Prague and all the "worth seeing" places in this country. Due to having spent so much time in the USA and Germany, I speak English, Czech and German perfectly. I do occasionally stray and lead international tours outside of the Czech Republic in Europe and the world but for the most part, I stay in Prague. I love to show this magnificent city and country to people from everywhere. Having the local and global experience as well as the language knowledge, I am sure you will get the most out of your stay in Prague and the Czech Republic on any of my tours. Visit Pragues' Castle area and Old and New Town. Cover the longer distances between the highlights in a van with driver. Minimize the walking by driving where possible. Visit the Strahov Library, the Loreta, the Prague Castle and go up the Astronomical Clock Tower for the great view. Have lunch in a typical Czech restaurant, I will be happy to make suggestions.
We had a wonderful full-day Prague highlights tour with Blanka, with a van and driver. Blanka is highly knowledgeable and very attentive. We had 3 seniors in our group and she really designed an itinerary to suit us, enabling us to cover so much ground. We had a delightful time with Blanka who gave us a wonderful overview of the Czech history and culture as well as insights as to what makes Prague the fabulous city it is.
Blanka was very informative and took us to all the main sites that we'd heard about in Prague. She spoke excellent English and was very accommodating to our wishes. Great guide.
- I will pick you up with a van with driver and we visit the Strahov Monastery with its' impressive library. There are over 280 000 volumes collected by the premonstratensian monks over many centuries. - Then we proceed to the Loreta, an Abby built in in the 17th and 18th century in renaissance and barrock style. - We continue to the Prague Castle sites and visit them from the inside, including the St. Vitus Cathedral, the Royal Palace, the Golden Lane and more. -Then drive to the Charles Bridge. The founding stone of this oldest bridge in Prague was cast by Charles IV himself at 5:31 am on July 9, 1357. The date makes it a palindrome - 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 7, 5, 3, 1. - We walk over it, if you like, and take the van to Wenceslas Square, then to Old Town Square, see the world famous The Astronomical Clock, wait for its' "Glockenspiel", and then go up the tower for a fabulous view of the city. During your tour, ample stops will be made as needed for food, drink and relaxation. End the day back at your hotel
