Dear travellers, I am Markéta, an experienced, fully licensed guide born and raised in Prague. As I love guiding and driving at the same time, I would be delighted to drive you around Prague and to some of the most special places of my beautiful homeland! I have worked as Prague private guide specializing in history, architecture & hidden gems since 2003, so I am ready (and happy) to flexibly personalize every tour. Each custom private tour is designed to create your ideal Prague experience meeting your needs, interests and pace. If mobility is a concern, the private car option allows us to explore the city comfortably and efficiently. Taking along a walker or a wheelchair (if needed) is not a problem either. I have lived in Prague for my whole life and as a child, I loved strolling the old Prague's streets, hearing legends about the old Prague from my parents. I started to work as a professional guide after receiving the Official guide of Prague certificate, aged 20… and soon I found out that being a guide in Prague is really great! It's because the city is so beautiful and most people seem to like it :) Later I studied Art history at Masaryk University in Brno. My hobbies are architecture, music, history, gastronomy, photography, and yes, good Czech beer as well - and of course, my amazing job that includes meeting people from all over the world and sharing our stories. • Are you a history, culture and architecture lover? • Do you like receiving relevant information in an entertaining way? • Does it sound good to you to have a beer at a place where locals go? Then, it's probably going to be a perfect match! :) I would like to invite you to: • My beloved town of Český Krumlov, a fairy-tale medieval city with cobblestoned streets • Terezín, a former concentration camp, in combination with Dresden, a baroque city in Saxony almost destroyed by bombing in 1945 • and to a short driving tour through the historical centre of Prague and its most beautiful views called Prague after dark We will use my practical and roomy car, comfortable enough for 4 passengers + driver (me). I hope you will enjoy even longer transfers in my comfy Volkswagen Sharan, where you can adjust the position of every seat. In the city, you might appreciate a panoramic roof for better views of the architecture around and above. I'm looking forward to meeting you in Prague! *Bachelor's degree in History of Arts and Culture (2012) - Masaryk University in Brno *Official Tour Guide for Prague region Certificate (2003) - Prague City Tourism *Official Guide of the Jewish Museum in Prague Certificate (2006) - Jewish Museum in Prague *National Guide Certification card of 2nd grade - with proven qualification *Professional Driver Trade License (2012) - Trade Licensing Office Prague *Czech Association of Tourist Guides member No restrictions

This private tour is designed for travellers who have already seen the “must-sees” of Prague – or who prefer to understand the city through its everyday life, modern history, and creative energy rather than through postcard views. Instead of medieval kings and Gothic spires, we focus on the 20th and 21st century, the stories of ordinary people, architects, artists, and the neighborhoods where Prague actually lives today. What makes this tour different A strong context of modern Czech history – from the First Republic through Nazism, Communism, the Velvet Revolution, and post-1989 transformation Contemporary architecture and art explained in clear, human context (no academic lectures) Local neighborhoods beyond the historical core, where Prague residents live, work, create, and relax A relaxed pace, combining short walks and comfortable driving, always adapted to your interests
Possible itinerary (flexible & customizable) Vyšehrad – not only legends, but its role in modern Czech identity and excellent views without crowds New Town & embankments – interwar architecture, socialist urban planning, and today’s vibrant city life Holešovice – a former industrial district transformed into one of Prague’s most creative areas Contemporary galleries and architecture Discussion of Czech contemporary art and post-industrial development Žižkov – a raw, authentic neighborhood with strong local character Communist-era housing, everyday life stories, and humor as a survival tool Optional stop for a coffee or beer where locals actually go, if you feel like taking a short break The exact route always depends on your interests – architecture, history, art, photography, or simply understanding how Prague works today.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
