Hello everybody. My name is Sonya, a native Praguer. I would like to share with you my passion about my city and the country. We will be exploring the hidden corners, speak about our culture, our customs and traditions. I was born and rise in Prague but I also used to live in Berlin and London for couple of years. I love traveling, going to different countries, especially in Asia - Cambodia, Laos, India, Thailand. My next destination will be Japan. To be a tour guide I fulfilled my child dream. As the child I was always behind the guides, carefully listening to their explanations. I decided to become an archaeologist. However, during the communistic time it was very hard to study archeology, because the department was open just every second year and only 3 people from the whole Czechoslovakia were accepted to the studies, so instead I studied and finished the Economics. After several year working, the dream reached me again and I met my dream job - guiding. I love history, its details, hidden stories to see that everything what happened in the previous years has such a huge impact today. That what attracts me on history. In Prague you will find me in a coffee house reading historical books or walking with a book and looking for small details. I can stay in the front of an building for hours admiring the beauty of gothic, renaissance, baroque era and any detail I can find on the building. I like making people happy, always you will be the first. I am very empathetic, caring, smiling, responsible. I am also very flexible, what everything you need to do, I can organize it. My work is my hobby. I look forward to meeting you. If you are short of time (you might also be tired, have some physical problems or just lazy to walk) and you would like to see everything in a few hours than I recommend you this tour. A comfortable car will take you to the most visited places. Of course, you will stop to be able to enjoy the atmosphere and to take great pictures of the visited places. You will see the most important buildings in Prague. I could say these are the must to see. You can't leave Prague and not to explore - Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Old Town Square with its famous Astronomical Clock and the Jewish Quarter. Of course, on the way you will see much more and you might do a small shopping on the Charles Bridge. I will be very happy to show you my favorite places and tell you, why I like them. To your wish, I could add to my list any specific buildings or to stops, where you would like to go. I can make it as much comfortable as possible or overload you with many information :)
This was a fantastic tour for the two of us. It was personalized so we could see the maximum of the city sites with our limited mobility. The guide and the driver were very knowledgeable and kind. I would highly recommend them. Loved all the sites. Ones we were able to enjoy from the car and the ones we were able to enjoy walking.
Our tour with Sonya was wonderful! She's a perfect mix of congenial and relaxed and very easy to understand. She's knowledgeable about Prague's fascinating history--we thoroughly enjoyed our time with her. She was great at being sensitive to our pacing (parents are 85 and 88 and intentionally walked without rushing on icy streets!) and having her driver get us over the other side of the bridge was key. Her timing to get us to "changing of guard" and small concert at Castle was perfect! Highly recommend!
This was an amazing trip and Sonya did an outstanding job. She personalized the tour focusing on the things we wanted to see while being sure she pointed out the highlights that might go unnoticed. She was extremely aware of our personal needs, for example, when we were tired of walking, we did more riding; she did an excellent job of balancing the afternoon. I would highly recommend this kind of "first timer" tour early on in one's stay to get a feel for what they wanted to see next. Outstanding!
I will pick you up from your hotel and than we drive up to - the Strahov monastery, where we can have the first impression of Prague, great view to the whole city - car brings us to see Loreta church, Cerninsky palace, Town hall of Hradcany to the main square in front of the Castle - from there we walk to se the Prague castle with all its courtyard and its famous cathedral (Interier) and the Royal garden - we drive downhill by seeing the Summer house of Queen Ann, church of St. Nicolaus, the church of Our Lady Victorious and the Infant Jesus of Prague (possible to visit) - we stop at the John Lennon Wall (we might sing a song there) and we can slowly walk - to cross the Charles Bridge and walk through the small streets to the major market of all times - the Old Town Square with its famous Astronomical clock (we might take a car there too) - - the car will be waiting for us at the Square and take us to the Jewish quarter with the oldest served synagogue in Europe - the Old New synagogue.
