Passionate, enthusiastic, flexible, sympathetic, concise, humorous, friendly - are words that have been used to describe me - this means I am the ideal person to share this beautiful city of Prague with and ensure you get the maximum benefit and enjoyment from your stay right from the start! I am not a local guide working each day on the same itinerary with details of many dates and events and leading groups with a flag from A to B and possibly a microphone! Worked in travel and tours business for 30 years and started my own Swiss company specialising in unique and client orientated programmes and itineraries. Have led and guided groups all over the world and have a special interest in the major European cities. I am from the UK but have lived and worked in Switzerland, London and now Prague. As your private guide, I love to share my enthusiasm, local knowledge and experience by not only showing fellow travellers my present city of residence but also getting to know them, what they like and why they are here. This gives me a chance to make each private tour unique and different and in tune with the clients interests and wishes. My knowledge of art and architecture proves very useful when walking around the historic magical city of Prague even if it is not a specialist Art Nouveau, Czech art or architecture tour as such! I always believe in mixing historical/cultural info with practical advice and local tips on where to eat, take a coffee in a unique setting or change money. This also prevents boredom setting in and gives the visitor a feeling of confidence and a great orientation allowing them to go back to museums or cafes they passed and find their way about like a local. That is why my ORIENTATION style flexible tours prove so popular as they meet the needs of the discerning traveler who cannot always find this with a standard local guide. Meeting a local tour guide/leader should also be a pleasant social experience for both parties. To that end I like to include some time for a coffee or local beer during the tour as this not only gives me a chance to get to know YOU and your interests and aspirations but also to share a great WORLD HERITAGE map of the city with you and explain where we have been or are going! As the honoured guest(s) in this magical city all depends on you and your needs, interests and what you hope to benefit from after the tour. I am here to help you get the maximum out of your time with me. Also available to give evening tours of cafes, bars, clubs etc. or accompany you for dinner at a place to suit your budget and tastes! Owned and managed my own group tours business in Suisse. Designed special tours and itineraries in most major Euro cities for groups as well as bookings, guiding and organising specialist tours. Have a BA/PGCE in Art & Architecture. As exam is in Czech I never got a local guide license! Walking tours use local trams if necessary but car/bus can be booked where needed for Czech tours.

Stand by for a surprise! Veletržní Paláce building is in 1930's style and is like being in a huge ocean cruise ship! A chance to enjoy not only Czech artists but also famous masters like Van Gogh, Cezanne, Picasso etc. without all the crowds in many overheated and over-populated European Museums! Having studied Art History for 4 years and been to most major museums in the world I was thrilled to see such a wide and varied quality collection here with so few people. Now I want to share my enthusiasm with you! The spacious layout on each floor is rarely crowded and this Art Museum has to be one of the least known in the world considering the richness of its Czech and International collections! I want to give you a brief overview of the main collections and floors and we can always return to your favourite sections or artists! Photos are allowed without flash. There is an excellent cafe where we can have a break or enjoy a snack or drink at the end before leaving. Also a nice book shop.
* Meet at your hotel or a central location * A short tram ride by the river to the Veletržní paláce - the home of the Modern Section of the National Gallery * After a tour of the 2 main floors we can be flexible and have a review and a break in the excellent Mama Coffee Shop * Time permitting we can return to enjoy your favourite parts of the collections * I can help you plan the rest of your day and accompany you back to the centre or you can stay longer for another look at the exhibits
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
This is a walking tour, there may be some use of Public Transportation as well.
