Overview of your Prague tour
The city of Pilsen is a regional metropolis about 45 minute drive west of Prague Historical center with Baroque and Renaissance houses that seem to have been cut out of the Middle Ages. Since 1842, this town has been brewing great beer, which has made Pilsen famous all over the world. Let's go to the brewery where the legend and trademark Pilsner Urquell was born. The excursion takes you to where the beer is produced and includes a tasting of different types of local beer. Part of the complex is the restaurant "Na Spilce" built in the cellars of the historic brewery. Here you can indulge and taste all the traditional Czech dishes, delicacies, and soups that gourmets already enjoyed during the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The town of Pilsen was liberated at the end of WWII by the U. S. Army under the command of General Patton. Main Street is named American Street and locals commemorate these events each year with a celebration featuring a parade of historic American war vehicles and crews in period uniforms
