Take this tour, if you are interested in the Second world war topic. I would like to guide you through the city of Terezín and its museums and tell you some of the human stories hidden within the big historical events we think we know. Terezín, during the WW II. known as Theresienstadt, actually is a vast fortress, built as a military city in 18th Century. We will see how Hitler decided to take advantage on the fortress and use it as a huge jail. The jewish ghetto was also used for propaganda purposes and for shooting a documentary, which we can watch in a cinema situated inside the Museum of Ghetto. Then we will have lunch in a nearby city called Litoměřice.
9AM Meeting at your hotel, cca 1 hour journey to our first stop - Terezín 10AM-1PM Visit of Terezín (former Theresienstadt) In Terezín, we will see: *Small fortress - former prison of the Hapsburgs and later of the Gestapo *Big fortress - a military city used as a Jewish ghetto during the WW II. There are several sights inside the Big fortress: Museum of Ghetto, A Secret synagogue, Magdeburg barracks *Jewish cemetery 1PM Lunch in a local restaurant (included) 2:150PM Transfer back to Prague 3:30PM aprox.
