Passionate, enthusiastic, flexible, sympathetic, concise, humorous, friendly - are words that have been used to describe me - this means I am the ideal person to share this beautiful city of Prague with and ensure you get the maximum benefit and enjoyment from your stay right from the start! I am not a local guide working each day on the same itinerary with details of many dates and events and leading groups with a flag from A to B and possibly a microphone! Worked in travel and tours business for 30 years and started my own Swiss company specialising in unique and client orientated programmes and itineraries. Have led and guided groups all over the world and have a special interest in the major European cities. I am from the UK but have lived and worked in Switzerland, London and now Prague. As your private guide, I love to share my enthusiasm, local knowledge and experience by not only showing fellow travellers my present city of residence but also getting to know them, what they like and why they are here. This gives me a chance to make each private tour unique and different and in tune with the clients interests and wishes. My knowledge of art and architecture proves very useful when walking around the historic magical city of Prague even if it is not a specialist Art Nouveau, Czech art or architecture tour as such! I always believe in mixing historical/cultural info with practical advice and local tips on where to eat, take a coffee in a unique setting or change money. This also prevents boredom setting in and gives the visitor a feeling of confidence and a great orientation allowing them to go back to museums or cafes they passed and find their way about like a local. That is why my ORIENTATION style flexible tours prove so popular as they meet the needs of the discerning traveler who cannot always find this with a standard local guide. Meeting a local tour guide/leader should also be a pleasant social experience for both parties. To that end I like to include some time for a coffee or local beer during the tour as this not only gives me a chance to get to know YOU and your interests and aspirations but also to share a great WORLD HERITAGE map of the city with you and explain where we have been or are going! As the honoured guest(s) in this magical city all depends on you and your needs, interests and what you hope to benefit from after the tour. I am here to help you get the maximum out of your time with me. Also available to give evening tours of cafes, bars, clubs etc. or accompany you for dinner at a place to suit your budget and tastes! Owned and managed my own group tours business in Suisse. Designed special tours and itineraries in most major Euro cities for groups as well as bookings, guiding and organising specialist tours. Have a BA/PGCE in Art & Architecture. As exam is in Czech I never got a local guide license! Walking tours use local trams if necessary but car/bus can be booked where needed for Czech tours.

As well as a historical, architectural and cultural overview of both sides of the river I also give practical advice and unique tips about interesting places to eat etc. After exploring the Old & New Towns and visiting several churches, we take a break for lunch in a 1900's typical Prague Restaurant in the centre. Suitably refreshed and rested we take a tram to the top of the Castle Complex and start our walk through the 3 courtyards of Europe's largest hill fortification. Ending at the Strahov Monastery we enjoy a special beer at the historic monk's brewery and a panorama of the city. If time allows we can descend and cross Charles Bridge to end the tour at a place to suit you. NOTE: This tour can also be done over 2 days (2 x 3 hour periods)
I am very flexible and each tour is unique with a varying itinerary depending on weather and the interests of the clients. 3 hour walking tour of the Old and New Towns avoiding the busy royal mile that connects the main areas. Focus on the history, architecture, culture and main events. We take a break for lunch at an interesting restaurant with reasonably priced Czech specialities as well as lighter salads and soups etc. In the afternoon we take a local tram to the top of the Prague Castle complex for a walking tour to see the main sites from the outside. If you want to see inside the cathedral and other buildings like the Old Royal palace we need to buy entry tickets. We then walk up to the Strahov Monastery for a great panorama and a look at the church. If time and energy allow we can descend to cross Charles Bridge and end the tour at a place that suits you. As we walk I will also point out good places to enjoy a drink or a meal and shops that have local products and markets
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
walking and we also can use the excellent and safe tram system to get to the monastery/castle if needed. Lunch break at a historic cafe like Cafe Louvre.
