Sibenik feels like a big village and I would love to show you this city through my eyes. So nope, I am not your umbrella-wielding guide :) My name is Igor and I have been living in Sibenik region since 2005. I've decided to be tour guide because I've also realized that Dalmatia and especially Sibenik is not yet ready for mass tourism, therefore quite difficult to move around and to appreciate, even for some locals. I am "witnessing" the history of Sibenik region as person from the side. However, like typical Dalmatian I like long sleeping, 'will do tomorrow', slow food, glass of wine before bed-time, 'intense discussion' about soccer players and politics. I love Sibenik, walking in Sibenik, exploring Sibenik, learning about Sibenik and finding out new things and old things, and particularly, I like strange, quirky and slightly odd facts. I am promoting the "slow tourism", allowing you deeper experience, stronger emotional involvement and relaxation. After all, Croatian coast is well known by its slow Mediterranean lifestyle, called "fjaka" (pronounced "fyaka"). You see, you've already just learned something about Dalmatia and you haven't even come to my tour :) Freelance Licensed Tour Guide ID Number 012636 Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG) and Certified Interpretive Trainer (CIT) in Interpret Europe (European Association for Heritage Interpretation)

There is far too much to mention, but a few snippets you might see include; a small town which is dating from 339 BC, river which started under waterfall, Ice Age, melting, salty and fresh water, sea level which was on 95 meters lower, First Croatian hydro power station which was the second AC-generating hydroelectric project in the world, unrecognized state of Serbska Krajna, Croatian operation "Storm" against unrecognized state, eight waterfalls (one of them is underwater waterfall), effect of calcareous sinter, the most powerful family in Croatia in the middle Ages, Romans (how could I forget the Romans), trade routes, an ancient Roman roads, hajduks, small balustrade lookout point built for monarch whose nephew assassination started World War one, karst phenomenon, mills, caves, only poisonous snake, "party breaker" in Dalmatia, marenda (brunch), 3 twigs, "will do tomorrow" tradition, Dalmatian loud speaking, glass of wine before bed time, medical purpose of local alcohol, and quite a lot more!
In Dalmatia we usually say about work "I'll do it tomorrow". that means never. This means we will eat, drink, chit chat and just simply enjoy the life. This is the art of life - enjoying the little things. - First, we will go to the Krka National Park to the Skradinski Buk Waterfalls. There we will learn many local traditions that characterize the way of life of the locals for centuries. There we will see the beauty and power of nature which is impossible not to admire. - On the way to the Small Family Winery, we will stop in the small town of Skradin, whose history begins in the 4th century BC. Only 750 people live in this town, but he managed to make many celebrities fall in love with it. - When we will reach winery, we will eat, drink local wine. . . This tour is very close what Anthony Bourdain wrote "Food is everything we are. It's an extension of nationalist feeling, ethnic feeling, your personal history, your province, your region, your tribe, your grandma. . . " It can also be customized!

We can travel in my private car Hyundai Tucson where 4 people can feel comfortable. If there are more than 4 of us, then we will go by minivan as an option. Please contact me for a customized tour if you are more than 4 or if you would like more comfort. We have to walk in the National Park around Skradinski Buk Waterfalls. You will also take a public boat from Waterfalls to Skradin.
