I have traveled the world for ten years and have never seen a city as beautiful as Vancouver. From the world's greatest park to the most livable neighbourhoods in the most beautiful city in North America; this city is a walker's dream. Mild climate, spectacular vistas, great shopping, historical buildings… it's got everything a visitor wants! I have designed and conducted tours for people from many different walks of life: from senior citizens to parliamentarians; from architects to historians; from airport layovers to cruise ship day trippers… I have helped them all. I want to show you the best of Vancouver with your interests and needs in mind. My goal is to make this the best tour you have ever had. First Aid /CPR Certified Member of Heritage Vancouver I conduct walking tours that may also use buses, trains, and water taxis. If you can't walk at a leisurely pace for 30 minutes at a time then I would not recommend these tours. The water taxis are not easily boarded by strollers and wheelchairs.

This tour is perfect for groups of 4 people or less. The tour starts in front of the Pan Pacific Hotel and cruise ship terminal, then to the Olympic Flame mountain views. We hug the waterfront parkland with the city on one side and the ocean and mountains on the other. We will then enter beautiful Stanley Park and for an hour we will explore the forests and gardens, get close and personal with totem poles, and explore the 8000 year history of human occupation. This park is continuously ranked one of the Greatest Parks in the World. We then will hop on a bus and 10 minutes later we will be back downtown. We will then explore many of the beautiful streets and buildings of downtown Vancouver. We recommend an 8:30 am P. S. T. start time but will accept tours until 2:00 pm. IDEAL for Electronic Scooters and anyone who prefers sea level walking.

Douglas was extremely well informed and we had a great tour!
Doug knew a lot about Vancouver and its history. He also knew about the USA and could make appropriate comparisons. He gave us a new understanding of the indigenous peoples of Canada. He was friendly and pleasant. He could "read" us well, knowing when we needed a break or a snack! In short, he was great!
This was a great tour. We got great information which was tailored to our interests. I have been to Vancouver many times but this was my first tour here. I learned so much I had not known. I would be happy to have another tour with this guide and I definitely recommend him.
We came to Vancouver with little knowledge about the city. After our 4 hour tour with Doug, we were intrigued and impressed with Vancouver's unique culture and history. Doug is not only extremely knowledgeable, but his passion and pride for his home is evident in his storytelling as he guided us through the streets and waterways. We were especially grateful to him for his accommodation of my mobility limitations providing accessibility to all of the highlights. This tour exceeded our expectations!
We couldn't have asked for more! Doug was the perfect tour guide, when we recently visited Vancouver. We toured Downtown, Stanley Park, and enjoyed Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont. He thoroughly researched the route to ensure we would be able to access the trails while using our Mobility scooters. Allowing us to stop for photos and rest stops as we wanted along the route.
The tour starts in front of the Pan Pacific Hotel and cruise ship terminals at the information kiosk. The mountains and ocean makes for a very beautiful and dramatic background to meet and discuss the tour. We then will walk west past the convention centre and Olympic flame where we will see float planes, outdoor art, and yachts; all the while with islands, mountains and a working harbor on our right. A short bus ride and we will then enter Stanley Park and spend an hour in its gardens, and forests. We will visit the Totem Pole display as well as various outdoor art displays. We then will catch a bus in the park that in less than ten minutes will take us back into downtown. We will then explore many of the beautiful streets and buildings of downtown Vancouver. Normally we will end the tour near the Art Gallery unless we have made prior arrangements such as staying on Granville Island.
