I love living in Vancouver and enjoy sharing local experiences, culture and places that are "off the beaten path". I am also proud to practice sustainable tourism using public transportation and walking to give you an up close local experience! Whether you are visiting as an independent traveller, in a group or attending a conference or meeting I have an option for you! My tours offer unique local experiences, visiting key neighborhoods and providing perspective on why Vancouver is such a liveable city! My interests vary from following lifestyle trends, exploring unique and local experiences to coffee shops and food. I am knowledgeable about BC wine and local craft beer but also very active with hiking, running, biking and swimming. My passions are travel, outdoor activities, health and wellness. I am continually in search of new restaurants, public art, events and places of interest as I enjoy staying on the "pulse" of the city. As an avid traveler I love meeting people from around the world and learning about local culture. Having also lived in various other parts of Canada I am happy to provide you with a broad Canadian perspective and recommendations of other places to visit and explore. I am very familiar with the Okanagan Valley and other parts of BC so happy to share tips if you plan to visit there too. The tours listed are only a sample of what I can offer and I prefer to customize tours based on what you would like to see and do in the time you have available. I also speak English and French. Walking or cycling options are available for some light physical activity or a bit of exercise while seeing the sights. These tours are ideal for taking in the scenery and exploring various neighborhoods while experiencing some of the outdoor activities locals enjoy. Vancouver is a very walkable city! Groups of 2 - 8 people are ideal for walking and public transportation tours, however, I am more than happy to accommodate larger groups as a step on guide if you have your own transportation arranged. The non-tourist version of experiencing Vancouver. . . You will experience some neighborhoods that are not part of the usual visitor route . Join me to experience local culture and lifestyle with an eclectric tour of our city experiencing local scenery, art, culture and food and beverage unique spots. The canadian hippie movement started in Vancouver and the current hipster culture is alive and well. Come explore with me some of my favourite areas of the city . Jenn is a really amazing tour guide and one the best be have used. She tweaked the itinerary to exactly match our interests. As well, she made adjustments during the day to further enhance the tour. Jenn was the best guide I ever had. She tailored the trip to my interests. I learnt so much about the city, not just the landmarks but the people, the history, social issues, lifestyle, culture, the food scene. Jenn is very professional, was right on time, offered suggestions for my own exploration of the city and she is so pleasant and fun to be around. I felt I aporeciated Vancouver and the people living there so much after having spent my afternoon with Jenn. I can't recommend her enough!
I loved this tour! Although I grew up in Vancouver, I now live in California. I come back every few years, but I tend to go to the same places I am familiar with. This tour was wonderful since Jenn showed me places that I had not even realized were there (places I knew 40 years ago, which have evolved in to new, vibrant and different communities). Jenn's knowledge and insight really gave me a new appreciation for Vancouver. Great city, great tour guide, and lots of great takeaways for me to remember
Beginning in downtown we will travel on foot for a unique tour in Gastown, Mount Pleasant and Commercial Drive. We will explore these fun neighborhoods at your pace with the opportunity to stop and enjoy local coffee shops and/or food of your preference. There will also be vintage stores to explore. We can finish in downtown or at a location of your preference as you may wish to continue exploring or hang out in a funky location for lunch.
