Overview of your Sydney tour
We will take the scenic drive to the beautiful town of Baddeck, home of the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site. The Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site celebrates the genius of inventor Alexander Graham Bell. Exhibits show some of the greatest inventions in aviation and with the production of the world's fastest boat. The museum also includes exhibits regarding advanced recording technology. Alexander Graham Bell designed giant kites and, of course, invented the telephone. The town of Baddeck is quaint; rich in beauty, history, and culture. The "Village" (as known in Cape Breton) will delight you with its unique character. Exquisite food can be found in the many restaurants offering everything from our world famous lobster to a steaming cup of seafood chowder or homemade baked goods. Enjoy a unique shopping experience while exploring our shops, boutiques, galleries, and much, much more.

We spent a lovely day with Barbara. We actually changed the itinerary and visited Fort Louisbourg instead of original tour. Barb grew up in this area and her passion for Nova Scotia is very apparent. She interacted and knew many of the re-enactors, and helped us get more out of our interactions with them. She pointed out many interesting features we would not have come across had we visited the Fort by ourselves. Barbara knew all the little secrets of the fort, which made it fun. For those visiting the Fort - be aware it is much colder than the port. (many people were buying Sweatshirts at the gift shop)

Barbara gave our family of 6, ages 13 to 80, a lovely tour. The Alexander Graham Bell museum was extremely interesting. And, yes. we all learned many new things about A. G. Bell. Barabara also offered interesting commentary and shared her love of the countryside we traveled through.
Your Sydney tour itinerary
Starting in the city of Sydney, we head west along Kings Road to Highway 125, merging into the Trans-Canada Highway at Bras d'Or. Here you will have the first glimpse of the Bras d'Or Lake at St. Andrew's Chanel. From here we venture over the largest through-arch bridge on Cape Breton Island and over Kelly's Mountain. Arriving in the town of Baddeck, we stop at the Alexander Graham Bell museum where you will be delighted and awed at the number of inventions showcased. After you have explored the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site, we will stop in the town of Baddeck where you can choose to walk the main street or explore the boardwalk area along Baddeck Bay. From here we exit Baddeck and head east back towards the city of Sydney. There are opportunities to stop for photos along the way both to and from during our journey.
