Hello, everyone. I am Conrad - one of Ottawa's most experienced tour guides (over 500 tours with TBL), certainly Ottawa's most reviewed guide. As a home-town boy who has lived here for over 60 years, I can say I am known for clear and correct knowledge of the history of Ottawa and environs. My family has roots here going back over 120 years. Since graduating from the University of Ottawa (BA Hon, History, '78) I have been giving tours for groups, individuals, and for travel companies. Overview of your Ottawa tour
Start time is whenever you want. This tour will cover (not necessarily in this order) Parliament Hill, Sparks St, the Rideau Canal, the National War Memorial, Confederation Park, the Byward Market, Major's Hill Park, Kiweki Point, Notre Dame Basilica, the National Art Gallery, all within the sounds of the Peace Tower carillon. Ottawa is a city that exudes of history and culture. You will get the full stories behind each venue. Let me guide you to hidden gems and out of the way places where you will discover things that are not in the guide books. OR we can do a hiking tour on one of the many trails in the area. Most will be 2 hrs max.
Your Ottawa tour itinerary
Our objective will be to see as many of the highlights of the downtown core as we can. That being said, we will not rush. If you wish to linger somewhere for pictures, or to get a more in depth story, we will do that. Is there any place special you want to ensure seeing? Just let me know and I will make it happen. Important Notice: the Parliament Buildings Centre Block has closed for repairs. For ten years! The House of Commons and the Senate have been relocated to new premises. Tours are available, but must be booked on line. Parliament Hill itself is now a construction site, so we can devote more time to other parts of the tour. Hiking tours will start at the trailhead. Before we start, email me your preferences and I can make it happen.
