Step-On-Guide Tour of Ottawa, Extended Version

There is a lot to see and do in the National Capital Region. If you have never been to Ottawa, you may be a bit overwhelmed by the choices, but I can do the picking and choosing for you to ensure you get the most comprehensive tour in the time you have available with an extra hour added on. My favourite type of tour is the step-on-guide type. I meet your bus at your hotel, or some convenient point in the city, and take it from there. This tour is especially good at Tulip Festival time in spring or the Fall Raphsody event in autumn. During the tour there are places where we will park, get out, and do a bit of walking, such as at Rideau Hall. A walk in Major's Hill Park is a must. In season, we would also see the Changing of the Guard at the National War Memorial (seasonal). This tour extends the 3 hour tour to 4 hours. This will allow is to go further afield or to spend more time at selected venues.

- We start at your hotel, usually in the downtown core. We could also start at another pickup point such as the marina dock or the airport. In no particular order: - We will visit Parliament Hill and its environs, National War Memorial, a spin around the Byward Market. - Then we will go to Rockliffe via the Ceremonial Route. - We will see official government residences, Rideau Hall, the enclave of Rockliffe Park, the parkways. - Then I will take you to the Experimental Farm with its Arboretum and ornamental gardens. - We will make a side trip to the Hull sector of Gatineau, our neighbouring city on the north side of the Ottawa River. - Drop off will be at the start point or wherever else you may choose, such as a restaurant. - For military buffs, we can see the changing of the guard at Rideau Hall, and the ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (in season)
