I am an accomplished outdoor enthusiast and world traveller who has explored much of Canada, Asia, South America, Central America and New Zealand. At 25ish countries and counting I am always looking for new adventures and new people to share adventures with, whether it be by road or on foot. With more than 20 years of experience here in the Canadian Rockies I have a passion for the mountains and like nothing more than sharing that passion with others. I practice Leave No Trace ethics and it is my goal to foster a better appreciation and understanding of our natural environment by connecting people to the history and the landscape. My good nature and sense of humour make me an easy travelling companion on long and short trips alike. I am certified by the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides, the Interpretive Guides Association and the Outdoor Council of Canada. I also have an Advanced Wilderness First Aid Certification. Business Licences and Proof of Commercial Liability Insurance for all advertised Activities and Tour areas are available. I am continuously adding to my skills, experience and knowledge. For any and all trips I put the safety and enjoyment of my guests first. Transportation is included and recommendations can be made about local dining, accommodations, other activities and facilities. Requests for larger groups can be accommodated. Please bear with me as I am often away from internet and cell reception. I look forward to connecting with you as soon as possible. Kananaskis Country is a series of Provincial Parks, Public Land Use Zones and Wildland Areas separate from the popular National Parks. The area offers scenic lakes, mountains, rivers, waterfalls and wildlife rivalling the Banff area without the crowds or infrastructure. On this hiking/snowshoeing and sightseeing tour there are many options for every ability and activity level as well as a picnic lunch in a scenic setting. *Horseback riding, rafting and dog carting (like dog sledding but on wheels) can be included. Please ask about availability before booking. **This tour can be a great way to get to or from Calgary and the Mountain Parks on scenic roads less travelled. (Closed December 1 - June 14)
I will meet you at your hotel or address for a safety briefing and to review and sign waivers before departing. As we travel through the Parks comprising Kananaskis Country keep a watchful eye out for wildlife. We often see animals of all types including Bighorn Sheep, Deer, Elk, Moose, Wolves, Grizzly and Black Bears. Although wildlife can never be guaranteed the scenery can and there are many photogenic stops to make. We will stop for a picnic lunch (not provided) at a scenic location during our hike/snowshoe or tour. Following our tour you will be returned to your accommodations. *To help me plan the best experience possible please let me know what you are comfortable with regarding distance, elevation gain or duration of a hiking/snowshoeing trip.
