The population of Santos lives almost entirely in an island of 57.4 km² called São Vicente Island. This island is also part of the city of São Vicente, considered the first town in Brazil, founded in 1532. Santos has the largest port in the Southern Hemisphere and the largest beach garden in the world, cataloged in the Guinness Book. In addition, and being a vanguard city that shelters in its streets great historical collections that tell the history of Brazil, the city gained international fame with Santos Football Club, who charmed the world with his talents and revealed Pelé, simply the King of football. It is a region that has experienced important moments from the times of Cologne, passing through the Empire and Republic.
