My name is Pierre, I'm half Swiss and half Brazilian. I was born and raised in Brazil but I lived in Geneva, Switzerland, for 7 years, where I studied and graduated in Communications and Language. I also worked as a librarian on an Art School called HEAD (Haute école d'art et de design). I decided to return to Brazil in 2017 and I started looking for new jobs. My father is also a tour guide and he's been guiding in the Amazon for 35 years, so I decided to go on some tours with him and another tour guide friend. I worked with them as a photographer for 1 year until I decided I was ready to guide myself. I completely fell in love with this work and I've been guiding since 2018. Sometimes I think I was born to be a tour guide, like father, like son. My father has worked as a tour guide in many movies like Medicine Man, Anaconda, Fitzcarraldo and even on a Michael Jackson song called "The Earth Song". I have many special stories to tell about the Amazon, stories that only my father and I can share. I speak 5 languages and I'm passionate for nature, history, anthropology, archeology, medicinal plants and literature. My tours are enriched by these topics. I also have great knowledge about birds. I absolutely love my work and I have great pleasure in showing the beauty and the secrets of the Amazon. We actually customized this tour with guide as shore excursion while in Santarem & he was very responsive as to our interests and requests as well as ship time. An air conditioned car was provided which was a huge plus as compared to to Viking ship 3 hr tour on non air conditioned hot crowed bus. Very good English and knowledge base.

-There will be a car that will pick you -the adventurer(s)- up, from either inside the port or your point of preference/lodging. -We will head to the National Forest of Tapajós (FLONA). -Arriving there, we will take you to a hike into the forest accompanied by the guard of the National Park and myself as the tour guide. The hike time is normally around 1 hour. The trail is very easy and there's no up's and down's, the terrain is very even. -Along the hike you will get to see the real rainforest giants: Piquiá tree (Caryocar villosum), Kapok tree (Ceiba pentandra) and many other big trees. -After the hike, there will be some fruits and juices waiting for you! -After the snacks, we will take the car and we will go to Belterra, the utopian city constructed by Henry Ford in the 1930's. You will learn the rise and fall of his rubber empire and understand how an american city was built in the middle of the Amazon. -After Belterra we will go back Santarem and drop you off at the original pickup spot.
