My name is Marcos and like you I am passionate about traveling to new places and meeting people! I have been to more than 40 countries. I used to work as a professional photographer and as a sales representative, which allowed me to get to know Brazil and South America very well. So, I decided to unite my interests: tourism, travel, culture, wines and gastronomy. That's the reason why I became a Tour Guide. Working as a Guide allowed me to share with people what really makes me have fun and appreciate in life. I always present tours based on my own experiences. So, you will enjoy what I really like to do, not just an ordinary tour. Besides that, I'm a very adventurous and sports guy. I am an amateur cyclist and longtime motorcyclist. I have traveled by bike and motorcycle to various parts of the State and Brazil. My favorite destination for cycling is the canyons region in Rio Grande do Sul and for motorcycle riding is Patagonia in southern Argentina. But what I love the most is to show visitors the history of Rio Grande do Sul where I live, and everything related to the people who lives here, mostly descendants of European immigrants from Germany and Italy. Hence my interest in gastronomy and wine culture. Oh! If you are a fan of this beverage you will have in me an enthusiastic and dedicated connoisseur of the subject because I know like the back of my hand the wine producing regions and especially the people who work to make this noble and delicious drink a worldwide success. So, I invite you to share with me these passions, whether you have just one or several days, your experience in the South will be the most surprising and delicious you can imagine. A world of aromas and flavors that will forever mark your memory! And keep in mind that we will be able to customize the experience, focusing on items that are most interesting to you. Suggestions and ideas are always welcome! Hope to meet you soon! Overview of your Porto Alegre tour

Beautiful! Vibrant! Impressive! These are just some of the adjectives that tourists give to Porto Alegre when they visit the city. The first inhabitants arrived here more than 250 years ago, originating from the Azores Islands in Portugal. They brought their culture, religiosity and traditions with them. In urbanism, architecture and even gastronomy, the influence of the Portuguese is remarkable, especially in the historic center of the city. And that's exactly what I love most about this city I've known for more than half a century: walking through the downtown streets, viewing the buildings, smelling the aromas of the local cuisine, and when the day is over, admiring the greatest spectacle that nature provides for everyone, indistinctly: the sunset on the shores of Lake Guaíba! We will do a one-day tour. But I can bet that you, like me, will fall in love with the capital of the gaúchos and will certainly return to your home with that taste of "I want more Porto Alegre!".

Your Porto Alegre tour itinerary

I don't have a tight schedule, because exploration is about discovering new things and new places, and sometimes, when you discover something interesting, you want to stay longer in some specific point of the tour. Anyway, the "a priori" suggestion could be: • Walking tour in the morning (Easy - only 1. 5 km / 1 mi, mostly flat) • Visit to major landmarks: Governor's Palace, Metropolitan Cathedral, Farol Santander, among others. • Public Market • Car ride tour in the afternoon • Guaíba Lake Shore and related sightseen points • Footbal / Soccer stadiums (outside) The tour itinerary can be customized upon your preferences.
