Greetings! I am Simeon and I am a licensed tour guide in Belize. I am 45 years young and I have lived most of my life in Dangriga Town, a small coastal community settled by the Garifuna people over 200 years ago. Overview of your Belize City tour
Let's spend a day together and take a private tour to learn about the life of the Garifuna people in Belize! Our history of struggle and survival over the last 200 years is so interesting that UNESCO designated my culture a "masterpiece of the oral and intangible heritage of humanity" in 2001. Come engage in activities of the daily life starting with a hands-on preparation of cultural dishes, which you will have the privilege of sampling them. Thereafter, you will get the opportunity to learn about arts and crafts which is an integral part of Garifuna life. What you will get to see is the art of drum making by one of our local artisan followed by a musical presentation where you will get to dance with one of our local cultural groups. We will also travel by historical sites featuring cultural icons while enjoying the peace and beauty Belize has to offer to the world.

Suggested Itinerary: 8 a. m -10 a. m. Pick-Up- Tour Introduction 10 a. m. FOOD PREPARATION - features stop at local farm to learn and prepare Garifuna food. 12 midday- Lunch 1 p. m. CRAFT DEMONSTRATION - features stop at local craft maker to show aspects of Garifuna arts and crafts. 2 p. m. MUSIC PRESENTATION - features a stop at local musician to share the elements of Garifuna music 3 p. m. - 5 p. m. Drop Off- Tour Wrap Up All tours are customizable to suite your needs.
