I am a proud Belizean and a professional tour guide. I have been guiding now for 15 years and I love what I do. In my years as a Tour Guide I've taken thousands of visitors to Belize on some of the most enlightening, entertaining and adventurous tours. We've done everything from admire panoramic views atop ancient Maya temples to tubing through some of the longest caves in the Mayan world. We've swam with sharks, flew with the birds and "danced with the deer". Once the British colonial capital, the port city is full of wonderful scenery and photo opportunities. This tour is a great way to get a quick overview of all you want to do while you're in Belize. The old British colonial capital of Belize City is the country's only genuine urban area, and the commercial and cultural center of Belize. The city contains both the main seaport and a colorful mix of about one-third of the country's 250, 000 residents. On this fully guided tour around historic Belize City you will see many places of interest, including the ancient swing bridge over the Haulover Creek, which is swung open by manpower. You'll also visit the oldest Anglican cathedral in Central America, St. John's Cathedral, built from bricks used as ballast in sailing ships of old. Directly across the street you will visit Government House, once home to the colonial Governors and now a museum
4 stars only because of limitations we placed on the tour. Because of physical issues, we requested limited walking - and Dorian honored our request. We enjoyed our time with him and will gladly recommend him as his local experiences, professional presentation, and intimate knowledge of the city and its peoples is worth the time spent with him. We missed getting out of the car and mixing with the locals - our mistake not Dorian's.
Dorian met us at the pier with a sign with our name and we proceeded to tour Belize after we toured the city we went to the Belize Zoo and it was unbelizeable:). We then went to Old Belize for a wonderful lunch. Dorian is an excellent guide, friendly, knowledgeable and fun to be with. I recommend him highly.
The entire experience was great! I booked the tour quite late, but our guide, Dorian, met us at the airport. He took us on a very informative tour of Belize City and even helped us arrange our transportation to San Pedro. The experience with ToursbyLocal.com was excellent.
