I am a proud Belizean and a professional tour guide. I have been guiding now for 15 years and I love what I do. In my years as a Tour Guide I've taken thousands of visitors to Belize on some of the most enlightening, entertaining and adventurous tours. Overview of your Belize City tour

Altun Ha, was first settled somewhere around 250 BC, with construction of the buildings beginning in 100 AD and continuing throughout the Classic period that ended in the 10th century. Some 10, 000 Maya lived in and around Altun Ha, which was a significant trading center as evidenced by the large amounts of jade and obsidian excavated here in the early sixties and seventies. Caving provides thrills to suit nearly any age and fitness level. After a brief 30-minute hike to the entrance of the cave, inner tubes are used to float along the Caves Branch River. See your light flicker upon strange shapes and the ultimate darkness beyond. Hear the echo of your own voice bounce off the distant walls. Listen to the water dripping from the ceiling, creating spectacular formations in the stunning chambers. And while you might be expecting dark and claustrophobic passageways, you are likely to find enormous chambers and cathedral- sized rooms.

Dorian was a wonderful guide. We were early getting off the cruise ship, and he was there waiting for us. It was so easy to find him. He gave us an incredible tour of the ruins and was extremely knowledgeable. He answered all of our questions and knew the best spots to take photos. We went cave tubing after, which was an absolute blast. We had a delicious lunch of rice, beans, chicken and plantains. We packed a lot into one day, but Dorian kept us on track and returned us to the boat with time to spare. I would highly recommend booking any tour with him. It'll be the highlight of your trip. Dorian is a knowledgeable and friendly guide with lots of experience dealing with cruise tourists! This is a lengthy tour as the two sites are a long drive from one another. This provided us with an opportunity to see and learn about the region as well as our tour activities. Altun Ha is worthy of one in depth visit but don't miss cave tubing! Your Belize City tour itinerary

1. You will be picked up from your hotel or any other designated location in Belize City at the scheduled time by Dorian, your tour guide. 2. From there, you will drive about 30 miles north of Belize City to reach the Altun Ha Mayan Site. 3. Once you arrive at the site, I will take you on a walking tour of the ruins. During the tour, you will learn about the history and significance of this ancient Mayan city. Additionally, you will get to explore the temples and plazas that make up the site. 4. After the tour, you will take a lunch break where you can enjoy a traditional Belizean meal at a local restaurant. 5. Following lunch, you will head to the cave tubing location, which takes about an hour's drive. 6. When you arrive, I will provide you with all the necessary gear for the cave tubing experience including an inner tube, a life vest, and a helmet with a light. 7.
