History and Local culture in Ghent

In this 4h tour, I take you through the Story of Ghent. Belgium's third largest city has some great and entertaining stories to tell! From medieval uprisings to the most stolen painting in the history of the world. I will take you into some lesser known neighborhoods to discover the real Ghent! But Ghent has more than just history. Together we'll enjoy Belgian culture. Our food and our beer are definitely worth tasting. Discover Ghent with a born and raised Ghenthian!

- I will pick you up at the ship, docked at the Port of Ghent. With private transportation, I will take you to the city center where we will start the tour with a beautiful view on our medieval skyline. -We'll then walk to the old port of Ghent: Graslei & Korenlei. -Next, the highlight of Ghent: Gravensteen, the Castle of The Counts of Flanders. - We'll walk through some nice neighborhoods where most tourists never come! - After a good walk, we'll then stroll by some authentic places that offer local cuisine. We'll hop in a great place to try one of our many local beers too! -Later, we'll walk through one of the most colourful places of Ghent: the little Graffiti street. -Afterwards, we take a closer look at my favourite of the 3 towers: The Belfry, symbol of power of the medieval city. -At last, we'll go into the Cathedral, where I'll tell you the amazing story of the most stolen painting in the history of mankind: The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb by the Van Eyck brothers.
