I moved to Washington, DC in 2000 with the intention of staying three to five years. However, I quickly fell in love with the city and the diversity of our country's history as noted in the stories popping out around every corner of the city. Since being in Washington, I have relished the time I spend with family and friends, telling those stories, and I look forward to doing the same with you. Experiencing Washington DC on foot is the most delightful way to see this historical and wondrous city - really touching and feeling this place: absorbing the energy, getting close to the stunning architecture, talking with local residents on the streets - in essence, experiencing life the way locals do. I am an enthusiastic and creative professional private tour guide. I am timely, people-oriented, and I will offer you a meaningful, personal private tour. If possible, I like to add a surprise site to each of my tours. I am a licensed Washington DC guide and a member of the Guild of Professional Tour Guides of Washington DC. I am unable to provide transportation. I am open to using public transport and ride shares/taxis when necessary. Note that I don't provide museum tours, nor large group walking or bus tours.

John F. Kennedy's 100th birthday is May 29, 2017. Step into 1946 Georgetown as we walk the beautiful streets where John F. Kennedy lived when he served in the House and the Senate. We'll see the home where Jack initially proposed to Jackie Bouvier. One highlight of the tour is a visit to the park where Jack and his brother Bobby played touch football. We'll talk about Jack's career in the House, Senate and his rise to the presidency. As we stroll through Georgetown, we'll discover the changes it went through because of the arrival of the Kennedy's. We'll visit the homes they lived in, learn about the Kennedy's friends in the neighborhood and talk about the neighbor's recollections of the family. We'll visit the last church that Jack attended before being assassinated. The walking tour will end with a stop at an unexpected Georgetown landmark. Depending on the day and time of the tour, you'll have the option of having a meal in the historic restaurant where Jackie accepted Jack's marriage proposal.
JFK first came to Georgetown in 1941. He and Jackie spent their time here between 1946-1964. We'll visit 3 houses he lived in alone, 2 they lived in together and one she lived in after his assassination. We'll also visit the home where they first met, their church, the park where he & Bobby played touch football , and his favorite restaurant, which includes the famous Proposal Booth.
