I've lived in the Bay area for 50 years and have experienced the beauty and many of the changes. Much of this was the growth of the wine regions in Sonoma and Napa counties into what many people will say is the best wine country destination in the world. I am a Certified Tourism Ambassador with Sonoma County and have very close relationships with many of the wineries. Many of the winery owners and staff are friends of mine! My background includes being self-employed for close to 20 years and having the belief in providing the best services. I have a background in transportation, both professionally and competitive. Overview of your Sonoma tour
This tour is focused on the wineries located in Carneros, just south of the town of Sonoma to the northern Sonoma valley. The Sonoma Valley AVA is located between the Napa Valley to the east and the rest of Sonoma county and the Pacific coast to the west. This region is also known as "The Valley of the Moon". The area is known for its unique "terroir" with Sonoma Mountain protecting the area from the wet and cool influence of the Pacific Ocean. The cool air that does affect the region comes northward from San Pablo Bay through the Los Carneros region and southward from the Santa Rosa Plain. Listed here is a sample itinerary. 10:00 am to 11:00 am - Enjoy a tasting wine made in an old-world tradition dating back hundreds of years to Germany and walk through the vineyards on a trail the winery has created for their guests. At Schug they are proud to carry on the family's 100-year-old tradition of hand-crafted Pinot Noir. From their roots in Germany and now as 30-year stewards of the land at their Carneros Estate, they follow in the footsteps of winemaking pioneer Walter Schug. 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm - Experience the amazing story and passion of a Boutique Sonoma vintner and his amazing wines. After your private tour and tasting enjoy a picnic lunch and one of the best views of Sonoma Mountain. Picnic lunches will have to be ordered in advance and pick-up on the way to this winery! 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm - this winery will take your group through the heart of their facility, through the crush pad, around the fermenting tanks
