Santa Barbara Walking Shore Excursion

I'll meet you where the cruise ship tenders arrive, and from there we’ll explore Santa Barbara my favorite way: walking and wandering. Most of the city is flat, with just a few gentle slopes. We’ll begin on the pier for a quick orientation—Santa Barbara is one of the few places on the west coast with a south-facing shoreline. From the Waterfront, we’ll wind through the colorful Funk Zone, then head up State Street into Downtown. Along the way, we’ll explore hidden paseos and stop at local landmarks like City Hall, Casa de la Guerra, the Presidio, and the beautiful County Courthouse. We’ll break for lunch before returning to the port.

I like to start on the pier to give visitors an orientation to Santa Barbara. As we are on a south-facing coast, it's good to get our bearings first. From the Waterfront, we will head into the Funk Zone. Then we will continue into the heart of Downtown. We will visit City Hall, Casa de La Guerra, the Presidio and the County Courthouse. There will be a chance to have lunch before heading back to meet your tender.
