Being an ardent explorer myself, I greatly enjoy helping others discover new places. I have been an ambassador for Cleveland for over 25 years, serving as an official guide for executives being recruited to the region. My clients come from all over the country and the world. I know this city intimately! I will show you the must-see tourist spots, historical sites, architectural gems, cultural institutions, hip neighborhoods, entertainment districts and dining destinations. I know alleys, back roads and hidden spots. . . I have always customized itineraries depending on a client's interests and needs, and I will happily do that for you. Flexibility is my hallmark! A change in plans, a stop for a photo-op, a snack or pop into a shop - no problem! Originally from NYC, my family moved to Brussels, Belgium when I was 10 - an experience that ignited my passion to see the world. Later, I studied in Paris, France at the Alliance Française. After college, I was able to fulfill my dream of traveling by traversing the globe as a Pan Am flight attendant! My husband's career took us to Dallas, Texas and Richmond, Virginia, although we've been in Cleveland for 30 years now. This is where we raised our daughter, whom we adopted from China. I was a longtime local journalist/photographer and have written extensively about the city. I also work part-time at an art gallery. I like to keep busy! I am civically involved, an active volunteer, a lover of the arts and movies and an architectural buff! Permit me to share my knowledge of the area with you. My goal is to spread my enthusiasm for Cleveland to you! We'll have fun! * Professional Guide for over 25 years * BA in Journalism/PR * Cleveland Civic Leadership Institute 2015 No restrictions

While covering the sites on this itinerary, you will also be getting an overview of Cleveland. The tour spans East Side to West Side, encompassing the city's cultural hub, University Circle, and the business hub, Downtown. Our focus is on the impact of African Americans in Cleveland, the far reaching effects of their accomplishments, as well as the significant influence of Cleveland in their trajectories. Did you know that Jesse Owens came to national attention while a teenager in Cleveland? Or, that Langston Hughes began writing when he was a student at Central High School? The oldest African American theater in the country, where his plays premiered, is here. You'll see the church that served as headquarters for Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. on his frequent visits to Cleveland. The historical markers of our Civil Rights Trail commemorate places, events and people - in politics, sports, religion and social activism. I'll also show you where freedom seekers boarded boats bound for Canada. Please join me.
