Growing up in Maryland and moving to the Baltimore area for college in the early 2000s, I have witnessed an era of Baltimore renaissance the past two decades. It has been my pleasure for many years now to show unfamiliar visitors all the great things to experience around town.

Fresh out of college, my father got his first job in Baltimore back in the 1970s. He lived in a Bolton Hill rowhome where his fascination of the city began, a character trait that was clearly passed on to his youngest son. Baltimore is a place full of unexpected surprises, and I would love to be the one to show you all of the things that make the city great and unique!

Highlights of Baltimore in a Half Day

Take a pleasant and easy walking tour through the beautiful historic center of Annapolis! This is the colonial heart of the city, with grand buildings on narrow, brick streets and the picturesque city dock and harbor. The Georgian architecture of the great mansions, the iconic Maryland State House, and much more anchor some fascinating stories of our town, small in size, but big in impact.

We'll explore the sites where the Treaty of Paris was signed (bringing to a conclusion the Revolutionary War) and where General Washington resigned as general, thus becoming the "greatest man in the world" and the "American Cincinnatus. " We'll explore the campuses of two institutes of learning that have shaped American culture. We'll walk along the city dock, harbor, and see the view to the Chesapeake Bay and wider world.

I'll also share personal and family stories along the way, to add a personal dimension to the tour. I welcome all questions and special interests for our tour!

On this tour of the beautiful Annapolis waterfront, you will enjoy all the sights and sounds of Annapolis, and hear history and personal stories about the city and its waters.

There's a reason sailers from around the world rank Annapolis as their favorite port city--it is one of the prettiest towns on the East Coast. We'll see power boats, sail boats of all sizes, and even a yacht or two. You'll learn the history of the Chesapeake Bay, Annapolis harbor, and adjacent rivers, and the Annapolis "Tea Party. United States Naval Academy, 18th & 19th Century Mansions & Gardens, Historic Downtown Tour

We will meet at your hotel and proceed by car to the Academy. The USNA is home to a Visitor Center, John Paul Jones Tomb, an extensive model ship collection and one of the largest dormitories any where. After the Academy we will proceed to the John Paca House, (1763) to have a closeup view of a collection 18th Century artifacts; Colonial kitchen with a manicured Pleasure Garden. On to the Hammond Harwood Mansion a period furnished 1774 home restored to glory. We will finish at the Downtown dock area for a visit to Ego Alley, Main Street, with it's street musicians, Fresh Ice Cream & Home made Fudge shops, artist studios, cafes & boutiques. At the historic center the Kunta-Kinte - Alex Haley memorial there is a comfortable stop to watch people and yachts.

Calling all cocktail enthusiasts! Join me on a one-of-a-kind mixed drinks tour through the charming streets of Annapolis. Annapolis has a vibrant and creative bar scene, incorporating classics, 1920's Prohibition recipes, and local inventions. After a day exploring the historic streets of Annapolis, sit back and relax in the cool with a full taste-bud experience. We can add appetizers at each.

Before the tour, I'll send you a questionnaire about favorite drinks, alcohols, flavors, etc. , which I'll use to ensure that your first, second, and third round are just to your liking. We'll enjoy a round of drinks, meander up the street to the next bar, while I share a few stories about the town. Then we'll sit down and do it all over again. 3 bars, 3 rounds of drinks.

Baltimore: Star-Spangled City! Half-Day Shore Excursion

It's the National Anthem of the United States. You've likely heard it performed or even sung it yourself countless times. But did you know that The Star-Spangled Banner was born in Baltimore?

On this in-depth driving tour you'll learn about the conditions that led a young United States to war with the British just a few decades after the Revolution, how the rough-and-tumble city of Baltimore became embroiled in the volatile conflict, and how a young Maryland lawyer (and amateur poet) found himself in the middle of it all.

I'll show you critical sites and landmarks related to the War of 1812 with lots of opportunities for up-close looks and photos. We'll also make a stop at the Fort McHenry Visitors Center where you can take in the exhibits and check out the gift shop.

The defense of Baltimore and the Star-Spangled Banner continue to be source of great pride for our city to this day, and I'm looking forward to sharing it all with you!
