Check out my Intro Video here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTKJnQygEyU&t=29s ] Check out my touring Instagram! https://www. instagram. com/tourannapolis/ Hello, and nice to "meet" you! My name's Michael. I was young when I first started "touring" this city. My father, a Naval Academy graduate and instructor, would often take us on explorations of the campus, the harbor, and the historic downtown. The beauty, architecture, and history intrigued me, and as I grew older, I began to study it on my own. Soon I was giving informal tours to family and friends. As a competitive sailer in high school, I came to know and love the waterways that encompass Annapolis—Spa Creek, Ego Alley, the Severn River, and of course the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. I found sailing to be thrilling, challenging, and rewarding. Other maritime pastimes – boating, fishing, crabbing, swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding – have also made for many enjoyable Annapolis afternoons. I left home to study philosophy and theology at a small liberal arts college in California. While on the West Coast, I always sought out colorful and compelling destinations: Ventura, Santa Barbara, L.A., San Francisco, Sonoma County, and Seattle. These experiences also prompted me to go deeper into Annapolis' quintessential East-Coast story, as I read more about her political history, architecture, Naval culture, and the lives of her famous citizens. I've been blessed to be able to travel in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and East Asia. Wherever I go, I read about local history, arts, music, and cuisine. Each journey has taught me more about myself, other people, and the world. I hope to share this same spirit of inspiration for those who visit Annapolis. My intellectual interests have led me back to the East Coast to pursue a PhD in ancient and medieval philosophy, opening another window on Annapolis' past. Did you know this city was once called "the Athens of America"? This was the site of the "First Citizen" letters of Charles Carroll, the meetings of the Sons of Liberty under the old Liberty Tree, General George Washington's resignation as Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army, and the world's first integrated Great Books curriculum, at St. John's College . . . and so much more. To help pay for grad school, I decided to share what I love with more people, and founded Tour Annapolis. This is a special city, renown for its beauty, charm, and fascinating story. I look forward to sharing it with you. 10+ Years Experience as a Tour Guide for family and friends B.A. in Liberal Arts from Thomas Aquinas College, Santa Paula, CA M.A. in Philosophy from The Catholic University of America, Washington, DC I do not drive travelers myself, but can arrange a vehicle to get you to our meeting point.

[Don't miss my Boat Tour Video. Click on it to the right! ==>] On this tour of the beautiful Annapolis waterfront, you will enjoy all the sights and sounds of Annapolis, and hear history and personal stories about the city and its waters. There's a reason sailers from around the world rank Annapolis as their favorite port city--it is one of the prettiest towns on the East Coast. We'll see power boats, sail boats of all sizes, and even a yacht or two. You'll learn the history of the Chesapeake Bay, Annapolis harbor, and adjacent rivers, and the Annapolis "Tea Party. " When this city was the capital of the US in 1783, the Treaty of Paris was signed here, ending the Revolutionary War! As a native of Annapolis, a boater, and sailer, I'll share my personal adventures on the waters -- capsizing in high winds, skulling on windless days, summer evening races -- as well as other local legends about the city. I'm happy to take questions and go into detail about whatever captures your interest.
