I love finding out about, places, people and our heritage. Fascinating facts, hidden places and inspiring vistas excite me and I enjoy being able to share my discoveries with others. It is important to me that I research carefully and throughly plan for any tour that I give. I enjoy the chance to provide a courteous and positive for my tour guests. Initially from Yorkshire, I have been an adopted Brummie for over thirty years. It's a city which is exciting and always changing with its roots firmly in the past but rushing forward into the future. Trained as an archaeologist I spend many years digging and analysing finds from excavations in Cheshire, Lincolnshire and the Midlands developing knowledge about the Roman and Medeival period and specialising in pottery of most periods, but particularly the Middle Ages. When leading adult education groups the highlight was when we found a Roman road. A second career in teaching primary children was suffused with the natural enthusiasm young children bring to their learning. My career took me in the direction of supporting special educational needs pupils and families. Whether with friends or family I realised how much I enjoyed finding places and planning itineraries on days out and holidays. When the opportunity came to train as a Blue Badge Tourist Guide for the Heart of England my decision was simple. Since qualifying I have really enjoyed researching, planning and delivering tours, meeting a wide range of new people and helping to explain the richness of my region. Blue badge guide , Heart of England MITG Member of the Insitute of Tourist Guides Accreditation for guiding Windsor Castle, Windsor and Eton I am not a driver. I can accompany your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Vicki worked with me closely in advance to help insure we saw all the key sites and her commentary was more than we could have gleaned without her. I appreciated too her flexibility when our train was delayed. We never would have seen as much of Stratford in the time we had without her. Worth every penny!

Wonderful tour with Vicky. She shared generously of her local knowledge and knowledge of Shakespeare. She clearly shared our deep interest in the man and his work, and I appreciated also that she keeps up with the varying streams of Shakespeare research and is able to present those different viewpoints. I don’t mean to make it sound like she is only a guide for the Shakespeare super fans like us but if you do have a serious interest, she is definitely a great choice.

If you love Shakespeare, you have to go here. This has been our favorite tour by far since we’ve arrived in London. We learned so much that we didn’t know. Our tour guide Vicky was incredible. Such a wealth of information. And she’s just lovely to be around. We enjoyed every step from start to finish!

Vicky is a fantastic guide. She is passionate about Stratford and the Bard and brought the history to life for me and my son, sharing wonderful anecdotes, art/architectural details throughout. She's tireless, enthusiastic and engaging -- everything you want in a tour guide. Vicky provided a muse of fire to kick off our trip -- and the perfect prelude to a performance of Henry V the next night at the RSC.
