Gateway To The Highlands with a Local - Shore Excursion

We went on a modified version of Derek's Gateway Tour, which was enjoyable. I'd like to say Derek was friendly and willing to make the changes we requested. Also, he was a great driver. A great driver and conscious of time. He was knowledgeable about the area and shared details about what we were seeing. He also spoke without such a thick Scottish accent that understanding him was easy. Derek helped one of our group obtain a RX after dropping the rest of the group at Stirling castle. This errand was beyond the scope of the tour details, but he was conscientious about making this change work well for everyone so that everyone actually got to see Stirling castle and get the needed rx before both places closed. I suggest to get the most out of your tour, plan with your group what you want to see, Derek knows the area and can visit sites in a logical direction. I recommend Derek!

Derek not only accommodated our requests for a custom tour, he planned the route to avoid predicated rain! We got everything in except a short cruise on Loch Lomond(this was our choice as the water was quite choppy). With his vast knowledge of the area, he quickly rerouted allowing us to see more of the countryside.

Derek was fantastic!! He was very informative & was on time. We had a great day traveling around the Highlands of Scotland. Would highly recommend him!

We went on an all day tour with Derek throughout the countryside in Scotland, both lowlands and highlands areas. He drove us to some beautiful areas and small towns that were absolutely delightful. He knows much of the Scottish history, telling us many stories which were so interesting to learn. We highly recommend Derek!

Derek knows his stuff and the region extremely well. He was very accommodating with the itinerary and the five of us in our group got to see and do a lot at a relaxed pace. You are in excellent hands with Derek. We loved getting out to the highlands via his nice vehicle in order to be able to make many wonderful stops. Thanks again!

I can’t say enough nice things about Derek and our tour. The vehicle was large enough for our group of 6. We wanted to add a couple of items and skip a couple of castles and Derek easily adjusted the itinerary. He even provided snacks which allowed us to eat on the go and squeeze in as much as possible before returning to our ship. Great day. Great tour guide.
