Hello my name is Charlie and have been a historical and local tour guide for over a year. I have a huge passion for the local history of Oban and Scotland. I am a retired senior law enforcement professional and can provide an unique insight into my tours. I am based in Oban Argyll which is a beautiful seaside town in the western highlands of Scotland. I offer tours in and around Oban, also to Mull, Iona, Glencoe, the Glenfinan Bridge (Harry Potter bridge) and bespoke guided transfers to and from Oban to anywhere in Scotland. My tours are unique and tailored to individual needs. So if you want to see and hear about standing stones to taking pictures of highland cows I can most certainly oblige with knowledge and enthusiasm. Mostly guests want to see castles and hear about the history surrounding them. Occasionally we get requests from customers who wish to investigate there family tree in the field and this is a service I equally enjoy. So if you want a guided tour, a guided transfer or unique family tree tour please get in touch. - A guide since 2018 - Professionally worked in Criminal Investigation Department I am not a licensed guide and will not be able to guide you inside of the historical monuments.

As I retired senior law enforcement officer I was always fascinated by the rich history of this area and with my previous connections have made it a truly memorable experience. We discover the history of Oban and then move southwards past some truly magical locations. We pass by the beautiful Loch Feochan and discover the fascinating history this stretch of water has. We learn that it was the last resting place on the royal coffin trail. We discover the beauty of this Loch and it's connection with several films. We learn the highland clearances and stop at the famous Bridge over the Atlantic. One of the most photographed bridges in Scotland. Then we explore the Island of Seil learning about its history and some of the fascinating residents of the island. We then visit Jim in the slate islands museum and learn about this ancient and fascinating industry in these islands. We discover Easdale Island where time forgot before heading to Historic Kilmartin and the standing stones and cairns of Dalriada
