Beata Povey is an excellent tour guide. I explained my interest in the Isle of Iona, and she took me straight there and we saw everything. She filled me in on some of the little-known details during lunch and let me tour the Abbey with the audio guide by myself, so I could linger wherever I wanted. On the way back, she recommended the Oban Museum of Peace and War as something I would enjoy. I went the next day and really had a great time, lovely sineage and I spent some time comparing noted with one of their staff. (I run a small museum in MA and am obsessed with them). She also told me about the Cathedral of St. Columba in Oban, where I attended Mass the day after our trip, and enjoyed touring. She is truly a caring and thorough guide, who took time to understand my interests.

Experience the beauty of the Isle of Mull and Iona
Overview of your Oban tour
Did you know Mull's beaches have been compared to the Caribbean? It is a paradise for wildlife watchers. If you're lucky, you may catch a glimpse of the white-tail sea eagles and otters. The Ross of Mull is the largest peninsula of the Isle of Mull, and Fionnphort at the tip of it is where we will take the foot passenger ferry over to Iona, a holy isle, the birthplace of Christianity in Scotland. Enjoy time on Iona ( 2.5 hours), explore the historic Iona Abbey, and wander through the village and beautiful white sand beaches. There is also time for lunch before returning to Mull. Even though we travel back to Craignure on the same road, it feels surprisingly different, with changing light revealing views you didn't see before. We take the ferry back to Oban. It is a long day, but worth every minute!

Beata was great. Communicated well before the trip and gave us interesting information during the trip. Mull and Iona, especially the Abbey, were lovely. You could feel yourself slow down. It was great having Beata driving as all the roads to Iona were one lane with passing spaces. Allowed everyone to just watch the scenery.

Beata was not only a great guide - sharing facts about Scotland, and Oban, Mull and Iona, more specifically - but she also becomes a fast friend who answers all sorts of questions on and off the main topic. We appreciated her awareness of schedule and her flexibility for us to make the most of the day. Beata did a great job touring us around the Isles of Mull and Iona. She navigated the tricky and narrow lanes of Mull with great skill! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone interested in really seeing those two Scottish islands.
We had a great tour with Beata. She is very knowledgeable and knows a lot about Scottish culture and history. She bought and arranged all ferry trips for our group. Her car is comfortable and could accommodate our group of 6.

- Morning ferry crossing from Oban to Isle of Mull with the views of Duart Castle near Craignure. Crossing will take around 45 min. - Photo stop at Duart Castle - Exploring Ross of Mull on the way to Fionnphort for about 1. 30- 2 hrs. - The foot ferry to Iona will take only 10 mins! - We'll visit the Abby and Nunnery for around 2hrs. - Lunch stopping at a local hotel on Iona will be a 30-40 min stop, to make sure we are on time for the ferry. - Return on the foot ferry to Mull - Drive back to Craignure. - Finally, we head back to Oban.
