What made the Oban tour so wonderful was Charles. He enriched our visit to Scotland in so many ways. He's: 1. Knowledgeable and personable. Hard to beat shortbread and a wee dram along the way! 2. Hetook us places that were off the beaten path. 3. For those on the beaten path -- Glencoe -- he provided outstanding background information and helped us navigate the crowds. 4. He made the most of the time we had. No wasted time. 5. He was flexible. We needed to see the Cous, and he knew right where they were. What a thrill to be in the field with them. I wanted to get a good picture of heather, and he knew where to find it. Even picked some for the three of us. 6. He talked just the right amount. There was no idle chatter. 7. And he knew just where to go for a fabulous pub lunch. 8. His van was immaculate and he managed the time perfectly. He is ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING!!

Overview of your Oban tour
I am a Scot and fascinated by the story of Glencoe massacre and on this tour I will share my detailed knowledge of those events and where possible adding odd joke or two to lighten mood. We will learn a little about Oban before we we set off then travel up to Appin to learn about the amazingly beautiful Castle Stalker then on to the breathtaking mountains of Glencoe before stopping at visitor centre and then on to mesmerising beauty of Rannoch Moor. Travel along the beautiful River Orchy along an off the beaten track route and then travel along the coffin trail where Kings and Queens of Scotland were transported to their final resting place in Iona. There will be opportunities to see standing stones and see local wildlife and photo opportunities of Highland Cows is almost guaranteed. Option to feast on a Seafood Experience with the freshest seafood in Scotland.

Charlie was great. Safe driver, comfortable, modern van. He took care of every detail. Highly recommended.
Charles didn't guide us but sent Darryl who was knowledgeable and a nice young man. Unfortunately the vehicle was very uncomfortable and took away from the beautiful tour. The minivan was more an extended jeep modified to hold wheelchairs...which only left 4 very small seats in the back with limited floor space for your feet. The road are very curvy and Darryl was a fast driver so we had to use the seat belts just to keep ourselves in the seats...definitely not equipped for a group of seniors.
